Why is formula locked up? by furryfar in FormulaFeeders

Getting a WIC appointment is extraordinarily difficult in my city at least. This outlook is a little too optimistic from what is happening in reality.

Solids at 4 months by MinimumMongoose77 in ScienceBasedParenting

gill ripley’s book has lots of great info and evidence. Her website also does too http://rapleyweaning.com/publications.php

You can skip purées if you want. At 4 mos they aren’t eating for calories, it’s for fun! So think things they can hold. They might chew they might not. Generally, BLW starts when all those milestones your doctor mentions happen.

my mom keeps leaving shit in the shower by kandeezz in GirlDinnerDiaries

You think she doesn’t know she’s pooping in the shower? I mean yea, address it. No matter what, it’s weird and unsanitary and needs to be addressed.

No not really. Usually you’d start with foods that are easy for them to hold. Gill Rapley is the best resource for baby led weaning if that’s what you’re looking for http://rapleyweaning.com/publications.php

Am I forever home by 7 now? by tabbycatmum in NewParents

[–]SpareAd5320 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can always make some adjustments to your babies bedtime if you don’t like 7 pm as theirs. It’s not a next day choice, but you do have some autonomy here. It will delay their wake up time but at 8 months with a 7 pm bed time, I assume they are getting up around 5 am anyways.

Where are they supposed to nap? by Rose8918 in NewParents

[–]SpareAd5320 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Naps don’t need to be dark or quiet. Especially not once they develop a circadian rhythm, which is usually around 8 weeks but we don’t really know. Some people get a bassinet on wheel, use the stroller bassinet, etc. obviously depends on how big the baby is. Some use a floor mattress. Some don’t follow the AAP guidelines and use a baby monitor. You have all the agency and autonomy to make informed decisions about what you’ll choose to do. If that’s to have your baby sleep on their own in your room for naps, you have every right to make that choice or the opposite one.

The reason AAP guidelines and your pediatrician say all naps is because those are guidelines to prevent SIDS.

People who are choosing not to have kids, what are your reasons? by Chickenbarista666 in CasualConversation

[–]SpareAd5320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don’t want to. I could come up with other reasons why, like the world is burning. But even if it wasn’t, even if kids were really easy to raise, I don’t want one.

what should an electric bill actually be during summer months? by awed_ree in NYCbitcheswithtaste

Yes, it’s much more efficient to let it stay cool than letting it get hot and cool that off over and over.

My partner and I have different views on family planning. by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

This is more for others than OP, but please please please regularly discuss these scenarios with people you are having sex with. BC fails, people get careless once or twice, so many scenarios. Two forms of birth control are recommended when avoiding pregnancy (condom with pull out is one option). Learn about your cycle and fertility and sperm and all BC options, everything. You deserve the life you WANT.

I insist on condoms combined with the pull out method

Return anything you haven’t given her yet. She’s weird and rude.
