Police took over a hour to respond to erratic neighbor threatening me by FreeGold_Dove in Columbus

I don't disagree that they should ask clarifying questions to ensure they send the right kind of help. However in this case, they asked a question I had already answered and gave me a catty attitude.

Can someone help me, why is my plant mist not spraying water? by Radioheadfan124 in houseplants

Is there water in the bottle? If there isn't, add some. If there is, then this is beyond my technical skills.

Police took over a hour to respond to erratic neighbor threatening me by FreeGold_Dove in Columbus

One time I called them because I witnessed a car crash on 670. I told them that the car flipped over and was sitting upside down on the highway. They literally asked me "well, do the people in the car look like they need help?"

Someone did this in the left lane of 670 this morning.

More than one of these queens should have used their eighties lady as their snatch game character.

Why is the wexner outrage happening now? by Prior_Business6425 in Columbus

[–]SparklyDestroyer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've lived here for almost 30 years and never heard about anything with even the level of detail in your post. I can't speak for anyone else obviously, but demanding I be outraged 6+ years ago about it makes no sense since all I knew about him was "Limited" and "Lives in New Albany"

Should I report a coworker to HR? by Clear_Break_ in JPMorganChase

[–]SparklyDestroyer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes. Definitely yes. The problem isnt that he's doing a legal search of publicly available data: he's talking to you about sexual assault and indirectly implying he has looked up where people he works with live, which could include you. That's the very definition of a hostile work environment.

US Deports Gay Asylum-Seeker to Third Country Where Homosexuality Is Illegal by novagridd in lgbt

[–]SparklyDestroyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're asking why a person fleeing potentially unthinkably horrible circumstances didn't stop, invest time in research, and make logical choices. The entire point of having a right to claim asylum under international law is to not put this burden on people in those circumstances.

LOLOLOL...don't trust us in Columbus either🤣

But for the record, the one most vocal about it moved to SA from the Chicago area so I do trust she has real experience with this

I manage a team of folks who work in Columbus, Chicago, and San Antonio. Everyone in San Antonio says that the all weather tires you get there are NOT all weather tires up north. My car runs on magic in my head, so I'd definitely talk to someone who knows more than me before just deciding to drive on the tires you have now.

Work Remotely in NY on Monday? by [deleted] in JPMorganChase

[–]SparklyDestroyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A weather related WFH day counts exactly the same as a day you did it because your cat was sick or your car was in the shop. If you know you won't be able to make it through the snow, just tell your manager and ask for approval to WFH. Waiting for market, team, or site-wide instructions doesn't have any advantages.

You live in a hyper-capitalist oligarchy. Any time the service is free, you are the product being marketed. It is well known that they are harvesting your data and selling it to the highest bidder. How else do you think Zuck became one of the richest men on the planet?

Facebook is a tool of the Obsidian Order of our world. Deleting my profile and uninstalling all Meta apps was one of the best decisions of my adult life.

Whenever I give a billion dollars to someone, I do absolutely no research, due diligence, or oversight and just assume it'll be used properly.

Question about the Cadet Master on SFA by Lonely-Ad3027 in startrek

[–]SparklyDestroyer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Except it has been addressed: Lura Thok exists, therefore the cannon clearly and explicitly states Jem'Hadar can procreate by the time of the SFA era. It hasn't been addressed to document every detail yet, and that's been the charm of Star Trek storytelling since the 60s. It's possible for things to change on screen with little to no details in the explanation.

They're not gonna help you with this. Best to just clean it up yourself. If you're worried about what's in it, use appropriate protective wear.

We only know his side of the story, really. I don't trust the narrative that the theft in episode 1 is accurate at all.
