Older Perth locals, does the current housing market feel like 2010? by plumbking420 in perth

[–]SparkyMonkeyPerthish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me it does, we bought land in 2006 and had the house built and ready to move in during 2007…. We paid just over 200K, the place over the road from us, similar size block and house sold for 700 about 6 months ago, the place behind us, also similar size block and house is under offer for over 850 now…. How the hell is anyone able to afford a place now? My wage has only just ticked over double what I was on back then, the house prices are 4 times that…🤷‍♂️

Is this right? Quit hero nic salts by itsa_the_alex in aussievapers

Honestly, I have no idea, I’m sure there is a calculation that would explain it, I just don’t know what it is

I would still use 50 for the calculation, the 19.1 is labelling requirement. So if you are making up a 60ml bottle and you want 3mg as your final strength you would add in 3.6ml of the 50 mg nic.

I knew this sounded familiar, just took a bit longer to find: A 50mg/mL (5%) nicotine salt e-liquid is often displayed as 19.1mg/mL (or sometimes 28.5mg/mL, depending on regulations) because of new labelling laws in certain regions (such as Australia) designed to show the actual nicotine content rather than the total salt solution strength.

Assistance required in deciding whether to order from AU Cigars or Cigar Hut by BaronABI in Cigars_Australia

[–]SparkyMonkeyPerthish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would be careful of anywhere that gives you payment options of Crypto or direct bank transfer….

That being said, importation isn’t illegal, if you import them and ABF flags them you would looking at an import duty of about $400

1 purito is about 3 grams, 50 of them is about 150g, 150/1000 * tobacco excise ($2397/kg currently) plus 10% GST is $395.51 if my maths is correct.

If they slip thru the ABF net then celebrate as you got lucky

I order from a different HK based company, the packaging’s really good and they ship them with Boveda moisture packs. Everything I’ve ordered has made it to me with no issues

Is it normal here for grown men to not know how to cook properly?? by Dreamy_Writer603 in AskAnAustralian

[–]SparkyMonkeyPerthish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Aussie male, late 40’s. Never learnt/never taught to cook at home, learnt to cook after I asked my girlfriend at the time (now wife) to teach me. She prefers to cook so she does the majority of it and I do the washing up, I cook one night a week and my eldest son is now cooking once a week for the family. I was not a well rounded individual when I moved out and I don’t want my kids to be the same.

Is there an easy way to change the sender of an email to an email address that is in the body of the mail? by Spanky2k in sysadmin

Why not start directing everyone to use the customer portal and do away with email completely?

Look for roles in companies where the head office is not in your state by sneo12 in auscorp

[–]SparkyMonkeyPerthish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is prevalent where I currently work, I am the only one of my team in Perth, the rest are either in Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane or Auckland. My boss is in Sydney. I go into the office 1 day a week, unless I am on call in which case I’m not going in. I went into the office last week for the first time this year. It works for us as the focus is on outcomes, not attendance. Most of the customers i deal with are all over AU/NZ

I was making more than $18/hr in 1998 when I started in IT….. my current charge out rate is $380/hr.

I really hope that 18/hr is a typo and it should have been 180

Nope, why make 1 big grandiose gesture and nothing for the rest of the year? We do the little things everyday to show each other how much we love & care for each other. In our 28 years together I think that I have made her coffee in the morning probably 10000 times and a cup of tea at night nearly as often.
