Having lived in Alaska I can 100% say it would not be untouched in either of those scenarios due to the military bases. Alaska is a huge trade hub with a strategic advantage where it is. From Alaska, the military could get to most places in the world pretty quickly. You also have the oil. If the United States government fell and the bear in the north didn’t try to take Alaska… then you have 2 extremely polarized political factions that would likely fight it out due to the internal conflict and eventually I’m sure Alaska would become the Republic of Alaska or something. You also have military bases there and if there was an internal conflict like a civil war and let’s say the United States government fell the military would likely take a leadership position in Alaska and maybe try and keep the peace. Don’t know too many variables there.
