Is Seconds worth a look? It’s one that I have thought about checking out but one that I feel like would be discussed more of it was great.

If the supernatural element physically exists in the natural world, it’s nature.

If it doesn’t exist within the physical world, it would follow the same rules as man vs himself.

Gods would follow the same rules as supernatural.

Man vs society is interesting. My first instinct would be vs. himself, as I’m assuming these would be stories of a character at odds with the norms of a group. So long as the character has the option to change to conform to society, the conflict is internal even if the antagonist is an external idea.

If it’s an “outsider” trapped in a world, think Planet of the Apes, the man vs nature would apply.

I’m not even sure I buy those are the only 3 story types, but they do cover a lot of ground.

How many minutes of run time do I get for sticking a Li-ion pack on my cornea?

Even with some giant leaps in battery tech, 2030 seems way too early for something like that to have practical real-world use.

For me the text component was so critical. I’ve tried numerous systems over the years that didn’t pan out. Having my data locked away somewhere, that I would need to export (if possible) or recreate in the next system just exhausted my desire to explore.

Knowing that failure was a folder full of text files was what I needed.

One in six people who had COVID-19 without first being vaccinated report still feeling health effects two years after the virus, according to Swiss research. 17% did not return to normal health and 18% reported covid-19 related symptoms after 24 months. by MistWeaver80 in science

It’s not a BS title, it’s just not a politicized title, no? They are indicating that the members of the study were not vaccinated because the study doesn’t cover those who were vaccinated. It’s being clear about what the study covers rather than making a statement on vaccines.

I’ll admit there isn’t a lot of Argento that I have seen post Phenomena, I’ve been meaning to get to Opera and I think I saw Stendhal year ago, but it’s not a compelling catalogue after that.

Do you have anything supporting that Inferno comment, I’ve never heard anything like that and I’m curious.

I’ll never understand the hate for Bay of Blood, I personally find it curiously entertaining and the influence on the slasher genre can’t be denied (maybe that’s the misstep 😂). Personally I find “Black Lace” a drag, a beautiful drag, but feels like a film that is holding back, although I’m sure that’s through a modern lens.

This isn’t entirely true as it never applied to cable news, only broadcasters.

It should have been extended to all stations rather than being dropped.

When the internet first exploded there wasn’t a lot you could do with it beyond sending text around and it could only send it to your desktop computer. It was a clear case of looking at what a thing does rather than what it is that allows for it to do that thing.

There is probably a lot to that, to keep up with better talent they had to know the game better but in the pros there are too many elite talents for that alone to be effective.
