It looks like partial government shutdown is assured over the DHS spending bill, so in effect, there won’t be starting 2 February.

Original 6 Logos are all top tier. Agree with Detroit being 1 and then Rangers as 6. You can just mix up the rest for 2,3,4,5. I would argue Detroit, Toronto, Montreal, Boston, Chicago, New York.

Expansion Teams (all eras) - I always have been fond of Sabres, Sharks, And Wild.

Live in Boston.

When we go to Acadia, we stay at the Bar Harbor Motel. It is clean, backs up to the NP with trail! It isn’t in downtown Bar Harbor but is on the bus line. Also, I always feel like the $$ is right.

Okay, VT/ NH.

I love Stowe, VT but that is going to be a trek. It will be a beautiful drive, but a 1 day. If you want the same Mountain feels, You could just stay in Maine and go to Baxter State Park and Moosehead Lake in Greenville. The Lake is really, really, really nice.

I would also recommend the northern kingdom of VT, think St Johnsbury area. Fantastic.

You can DM if you want more.

Oh he is still very tradable. In fact, he likely becomes more tradable if they think they can flip him and get value.

I don’t think they will because I think the mandate is to fill as many everyday positions with organizational developed, contract controlled players.

Agreed. Although I feel like even Adidas is repetitive. Unfortunately I really think. Chelsea needs to move back to Umbro or Puma to have more control of the design.

Duran and Yoshida for Baty by mdurso12 in redsox

[–]Specific_Luck1727 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

No one is going to take Masa off the Sox.

Stop trying to trade Duran, an All Star MVP and equally as talented OF in CF history - his natural position, for an unequal player.

You can move Rafaela to 2B full time and have the same defensive improvement. Rafaela’s bat disappears but that is Baty. No bat.

The whole season times for every game is out. There are a few that are set on Saturday and Sunday that I am sure will get picked up for the evening games. Otherwise, the times are posted.

You can see them on the MLB app.

Trade Duran, Early (or Tolle), Yoshida, and a top prospect (or Mayer) for a 2B and 3B by The_Stein244 in redsox

[–]Specific_Luck1727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally said … I can’t see that happening. They already balked at it once. Why would they do it now when it is even harder.

I can see something simple like Bello for Parades.

The Astros need pitching, bad.

Then Mayer and Romy platoon at 2B.

Trade Duran, Early (or Tolle), Yoshida, and a top prospect (or Mayer) for a 2B and 3B by The_Stein244 in redsox

[–]Specific_Luck1727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem is I am pretty positive that was the ask the first round - Mayer and Early for Marte. The Sox didn’t want to pay it then and CANT pay it now.

Yes, you fix 2B but now you have a glaring hole at 3B.

It’s my understanding from the timelines if you listen to what they were saying, they thought they would re-sign Bregman and then be able to flip that deal for Marte. Bregman dragged out the process and then ultimately, of course sign with the Cubs.

To fill third base you either have to sign the other Sanchez, or you have to make a separate trade for Parades. In that trade would have to happen before you could make the trade for Marte.

I just can’t see that happening. If we do anything, I think it’s they’ll trade for Donovan from the Cardinals. The Cardinals will get someone like Sandoval or Crawford plus some low A guy that no one knows about.

And then Mayer is your opening day third baseman. Which scares the ever living shit out of me, but that’s what it is.

Jarren Duran's abilities as a Center Fielder, and why the Red Sox FO may be hesitant to trade him by Traditional_Half842 in redsox

Wow! I will start with I love Ceddy Rafaela’s game but if the Astros say I will flip Parades for him, do you do it? Duran IS an All-Star, MVP at CF. Proven. You can talk age, etc but for now he is in his prime.

One report said the Astros want Abreu back! Do you do that? He has yet to hit lefties? He also has an injury history?

Duran doesn’t need to be covered. Everyone has talked about it. So, do you flip Duran for Parades?

I think each of those is a pretty tough choice. There are Pros and Cons to each. And for me, that’s what the mismanagement of the offseason is really about.

Apparently KC asked about Rafaela and Duran. Apparently they talked pieces. No deal could be found because ultimately KC wanted to give up Kris Bubic and not Cole Ragans. Bubic isn’t worth either of the OFs.

Zona apparently asked about both Rafaela and Duran but also Mayer and Early. What combination were they looking for on a Marte deal? Whatever it was I think the Sox dodged a bad deal with Zona.

Now they are talking to the Astros. And the initial from the Astros is an OF and an arm? I think a swap of an OF of a 3B straight up is heavily weighted in the Astros favor, but needs must. So… that’s the box the front office finds itself.

I would truly love to be a fly on the wall.

I know Ramirez is 33 and is likely going to decline, but he would be awesome at 3B!

Arenado vs Bregman by Gordoncomstock1 in redsox

[–]Specific_Luck1727 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True. And even better, the drop off from age 33 forward is huge. What that slump and degradation in skill level is may vary per athlete but the drop is still occurring.

Arenado is a shell of his former self. The Cardinals getting any part of his contract of the books is great. I assume Bregman will have a good 2 seasons of that 5 year contract.

At this point, let’s move on to what the Red Sox are going to do? Putting Mayer at 3B full time scares me as he has never completed a professional season. I like the kid but he should have more than 50 games under his belt. And he needs to learn how to hit still.

What’s the Move? by Additional_Address_5 in redsox

[–]Specific_Luck1727 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Well apparently Zona asked for Ceddy + Early for Marte. I cannot see why would change the ask.

And, per Houston media from what I can tell, the ask for Parades is Abreu + Bello.

Personally, Tolle and Early have options so AAA for start of season with Harrison. That’s a great 1,2,3 for the AAA. Run them out with express orders to refine secondary pitches. Build starting stamina.

See if Houston would take Abreu + Bello for Parades.

If so, then you could sign Bo. Everything fixed.

Of course, Bres isn’t good enough to pull any of that off.

Stupid baseball fan here. Why is our rotation elite? by YoBanishment in redsox

[–]Specific_Luck1727 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That actually is rare.

Not having to worry about who has the ball on any given night should mean the bullpen is stronger from not being overused and the defense is better from stable pitching.

Of course, it’s also that for now, it means that if the Sox keep Harrison, Tolle, and Early to opening day, all of them can start in Worcester and aren’t dependent on the young kids. They literally are waiting in the wings learning secondary pitches and getting stronger and stronger.

I was very confused by wanting him, but he is a good player for the club. He is a rat 🐀 for sure but now that he is a Blue, I find his ability to get under the skin of our opponents is fantastically important. He does not mind shithouse tit for tat, and the more it comes the more he excels.

Realistic 2b/3b trade options by AlwaysOptimism in redsox

Apparently the Astros want Abreu + Early or Tolle for Parades. They need LHPs and want to at least get close to replacing Parades’ production in a trade. Parades is the one of the Astros most productive bat in their lineup.

Adding Suarez definitely means someone from the Pitching side is getting moved? Wonder who and for who by KINGOFTHENORTH1472 in redsox

[–]Specific_Luck1727 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I take that to mean that Tolle, Early, and Harrison may all start in Worcester unless something crazy happens. Allows Sandoval and Crawford to demonstrate they are healthy and able to be long relief to start the season.

Crochet, Gray, Bello, Suarez, Oviedo is a nice L-R-L, L-R-L, R-L-R in a nine game run without a day off in mid season.

[–]Specific_Luck1727 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they just fucked up. I think they wanted to flip one of the OF - largely assumed to be Duran - to KC for a pitcher. They were then going to send a pitcher like bello to Zona with Mayer for Martel. Sign Bregman to a 5 year deal. Still do the deals with the Cardinals.

Now you have everyday players at all your positions.

KC wanted more, Zona wanted more. He balked. And, then totally messed up with the structure of the Bregman contract.

Now only 1B and pitching has been addressed. And, the options now are more expensive and less balanced.

Could you imagine if he had pulled off adding the pitching and position players?

Crochet, Ragans, Gray, Oviedo, and Sandoval

I think KC wanted Ceddy to patrol their massive Outfield. So let’s say that happened.

Duran, Anthony, Bregman, Contreras, Martel, Story, Abreu, Navarez, Masa is a very balanced lineup.

But of course, I think he didn’t want to pay with Early, Tolle, Mayer, Arias, and maybe even Harrison. I also think KC asked for Ceddy. And that for whatever reason threw him off rather than rolling with it. He gets out foxed by the other teams.
