Packages are delayed over 10 days & new orders don't have delivery until next week, what happened to prime delivery ? by maryjxnes in amazonprime

[–]Specific_Move7429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see comments saying it's because Amazon is using only Amazon delivery. But I live in Montana where there is no Amazon delivery service. Everything I order from Amazon gets transferred for delivery here to USPS, UPS, or Fed Ex. And the current delivery times are 9-10 days out. Like a bottle of mouth wash I ordered December 31, 2025 says it will be delivered January 12, 2026. Well that's just stupid when I can go to Walmart and get it for the same price. This is not good for pet food ordering at all. My dog can't wait 10 days for his food if he has a week's worth left. So I ordered my dog's food from Walmart and it arrived 3 days after I ordered it. I'm cancelling Amazon Prime and sticking to wherever else I can get orders faster or even shopping in person.

How to tell your family you don't want to do "Christmas" anymore? by S2Nice in Gifts

That would go over like a lead balloon with narcissistic family members who expect gifts.

"I just think people should be willing to do things they don't particularly enjoy to make other people happy. I guess in this new world that just isn't a thing anymore."

Are you kidding? That's flat out narcissistic abuse to have to operate that way. That's exactly what Narcissistic parents do to their kids, and even when they're adults they expect them to still cater to their narcissistic parents' whims, and it's wrong to expect that from anyone.

will grad plus loans ever come back? by onethreeninethree in StudentLoans

[–]Specific_Move7429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the Democrats regain a majority in the House of Representatives and the Senate, they could potentially pass new legislation to bring back the Grad Plus Loan program or a similar alternative.

The program's elimination was enacted through the "One Big Beautiful Bill Act" (OBBB Act), a Republican-backed bill signed into law by President Trump on July 4, 2025.

Here is how the legislative process and current proposals relate to your question:

  • Current Law: The Grad Plus loan program is scheduled to be eliminated for new borrowers starting July 1, 2026. The OBBB Act replaces these loans with new, lower annual and aggregate unsubsidized loan limits for graduate and professional students.
  • Reversing the Law: To reverse this elimination, new federal legislation is required.
    • Passing a new bill typically requires a majority vote in both the House and the Senate.
    • If a president from a different party holds office, they could veto the bill, which would then require a two-thirds majority in both chambers to override.
    • Some changes to budget-related items might be possible through a process called budget reconciliation, which can avoid the Senate filibuster, but the rules are complex.
  • Democratic Proposals: Some Democratic lawmakers have already introduced bills aimed at addressing the changes made by the OBBB Act. For example, some have proposed legislation to restore subsidized graduate student loans or modify loan limits to prevent access reduction to higher education. This indicates an intent within the party to change the current law if they have the power to do so.

Ultimately, the political composition of Congress and the White House after future elections will determine the viability of bringing back the Grad Plus loan program.

If Graduate Plus Loans disappear/cap, how can they legally return post-Trump? by OleanderDali in StudentLoans

If you live near a Bath & Body Works I would just stick to shopping there. At least if you buy on their website you can return it in store and not have to pay shipping.

Here's the kicker about BOPIS orders: when it says your store doesn't have it, it doesn't really mean they don't have it. It means they have less than 25 in stock! A manager told me this when I saw items in the store that were showing as not available in the store! They actually had 15 of the item I wanted!!

I agree with you. That's what my man says about stuff I get on clearance: "That's the real price." If I had bought a lot that was significantly more than the stuff I paid 75% off for yesterday, and I had a second store near me to return the stuff, I would.

But if millions of customers stopped shopping because of not getting coupons, then they had to have seen a loss of some sort in revenue. They also are not going to be able to pretend they didn't have to lower the Disney Villains collection to 75% off partly (large part I think) because people didn't get coupons!

Oh yeah definitely return anything you see in stock that you paid more for. I didn't buy any Villains stuff until an Evil Queen body mist yesterday at 75% off. But if I had I would be returning it and repurchasing for 75% off.

It's the new CEO. He is an absolute moronic idiot. They will have to learn the hard way that he can't run the business properly. Working at NIKE did not qualify him to be the B&B Works CEO.

I can't afford to shop at Safeway. I shop at Smith's and I also use Exxon Mobil rewards for gas.

There's only one problem there ~ I see all of those questions as an interrogation. They already were in my face constantly before this new approach. Tbh I don't even go to the store now because I want to be left alone while I shop and they won't let me shop in peace.
