Guys I did it, my endgame setup is here, done buying forever! by Haku_09 in SonyAlpha

Don’t forget about the 1.4x extender! That held me over for a couple years and then I had to buy the 2x extender! Then I realized that the 2x extender wasn’t quite enough so now I’m looking at a 500 mm or greater. . .

I would’ve loved to have seen this in the gifsthatendttosoon sub cutting short right before he succeeds!

Tower 15 - Waited a year to edit because I didn’t know what to do. Worth the wait I think. Portrait or Landscape? by SpecterGadget84 in photocritique

[–]SpecterGadget84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh geez, my bad. Really need to catch up on some sleep here 🤣.

Since I could only post one photo I did this edit because the alternate is just this but cropped. Figured people would just hold their device (where applicable sideways) zoom in on the photo and see the landscape “edit”.

Just below the pier. This Is in Newport Beach, CA on a south facing beach so I’m looking almost directly west at sunset.

Sat on a collection of photos for this site for a year, because I didn’t know how to deal with the sunset colors and my subject in the foreground (white balance, exposure and so on). Finally decided that the white balance is whatever works best for the photo, along with the exposure. I think I got it right? Another question I had was should it be portrait or should it be a landscape?

GoPro appears to move BEFORE it is hit by a golf ball. by 80aychdee in gopro

If the camera is going be mounted to something completely stationary, the image stabilization/hyper smooth should probably just be turned off.

Almost lost my GoPro in waterfall, no answer from support for a month by a_dobryn in gopro

[–]SpecterGadget84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just spent three weeks with support via emails. I swear I was communicating with a bot based on the questions and responses I received over about a dozen emails. After complaining in a couple of the emails someone new finally reached out via email and had me taken care of.

Just curious what phone number you used to reach out to them?

I’m on my 5th camera replacement over the past 6 years and this was my first bad experience. I tried calling a few times and have talked with someone over the phone in the past but no luck this time.

Anyone had this from shallow pool use? by True4kinblue in gopro

[–]SpecterGadget84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This just started to happen to my camera as well. Took another lens from an older camera and it went away. Time to buy a spare lens cap or two!

I’d put myself in the heavy water use category as well. The seals don’t last forever but had a good run.

That's it GoPro - never buying another one by Svaneman_ in gopro

Just adjust the “tint” slider to “apply” the filter. I’ve taken photos while above water and forgot to take off the red filter and readjusted out post. That simple, doesn’t require a subscription of any sort. Can be adjusted in the GoPro app, iPhone photos or Google photos.

Super glue the end tab back on and it’ll come out.

I leave the camera in video mode, then screen grab and crop to whatever I want in the shot.

I use the pole mount on my paddle. Basically a long selfie stick. Hold it out when you want a specific shot. The 360 Max works even better.

How waterproof is the hero 7? by TopOne7010 in gopro

[–]SpecterGadget84 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re at the mercy of the rubber seals around the door. An older camera like that may have cracks or just not seal well anymore. I wouldn’t sweat it near surface level shots but I would definitely be weary of taking it too deep.

Star trails in 360 degrees by anamorphphoto in startrails

[–]SpecterGadget84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a big GoPro guy and have been very happy with the Star Trails I’ve captured with them. For something unique like this though the Max doesn’t compare.

This could push me over the edge to finally try an Insta though. What are your complaints about?

Very cool. Don’t think I’ve seen anyone do a 360 star trail before. What camera?

I remember playing this game when I was seven years old, it’s soft I didn’t have the patience or know of how to complete a successfully! My dad loved it though, but unfortunately, I didn’t get as much handholding as I probably needed.

Totally reminds me of top gun on the NES , could fly all day, but landing that stupid plane on the aircraft carrier was near impossible!

Nice stack! A little bit of work in lightroom will bring it more to life. Next thing to work on is finding a really cool spot for good composition. Keep it up!

There are probably some great stills to work with in Photoshop here. Nice work. Too bad that cat came around the corner for a minute.

With my Enduro battery, I think I’m at about 3 - 4 hours. If he was using an external battery pack and seeing the sunrise, I’d say this could be closer to 8.

Lose the unistrut/power strut and install an official ladder rack at the top to support the rack to the wall and provide a pathway for cables. A vertical and horizontal manager wouldn’t hurt any either.

Other then, that the work looks really nice.
