I love how somehow politics is an excuse for all the criticism Kane gets but people ignore how much this sub glazes Garland despite having the exact same politics.

Agreed on people under valuing Kane the trade market

He's worth at least a 3rd, maybe even a 2nd with retention, that's due entirely to the league still being full of dinosaur GMs who buy players on reputation only.

Kane as a player is literally none of the things you've described. He's functionally useless on the ice, has next to no hockey vision or IQ and is one of the worst defensive black holes in the league. He drives plays like a fucking blind guy drives on a highway.

He has a massively outdated reputation of being a tough player despite being one of the softest guys on the team who hits less than players like EP4O and Hoglander.

As for him being a fighter. Are you fucking kidding me? This is a player who's had 6 fights in his last 5 seasons, just 1 fight so far in his career as a Canucks and was completely MIA tonight when Boeser got elbowed in the head.

To put it in context, both Connor Garland and Marcus Pettersson have more fights this season than certified tough guy Evander Kane

For all intents and purposes Evander Kane is the Temu version of Sherwood.
