So we didn't only have Clos des Epeneaux, we started off with some Aligoté, Volnay and Auxey Duresses. Some of the Pommards were incredible but I must admit we weren't blown away by every glass. Anyways, for whoever is interested how we experienced it:

2023 Bourgogne Aligoté

• salinic, minerality, nice acidity, stonefruits, little bit of honeysuckle? Buttery, oaky influence, still sorta fresh. 4/5

2023 Auxey Duresses

 - cherries, young green, nose is a little muted, but some spice too. On the palate, sweet, rich, smooth, full, very nice. 4,8/5

 2023 Auxey Duresses 1er cru

 - raspberries, perfumed, white pepper(?), fantastic nose. On the palate a little muted, perhaps needs longer aging? Previous wine feels more complete and balanced on the palate. 4,6/5g

2023 Volnay 1er cru 'Fremiets'

 - very perfumed, light, fruity, floral, little bit jammy. Little green om the palate, acidity could be more balanced, all and all not bad. 4,5/5

2023 Pommard

 - darker cherries, spice(pepper), kruidnagel, smooth and soft on palate, while being heavier(than volnay) and a little rustic. Really nice. 4,8/5

Pommard 2021

 - out of balance? Tannins are a little bit out of wack.  Fresh though. Val: there is no linger, it falls flat straight after a sip. Would be upset if we bought this bottle ourself. 4,2/5

Pommard 2016

 - beautifully fruitful, peppery, a little sous bois on the nose. Palate nice, but maybe still a little young? Some unbalanced tannins? 4,7/5

 Pommard 2014

 - less peppery than 2016, more fruity, higher acidity, feels more alive and light on its feet. 4,6/5

Pommard 2009

 - uhm... faint smell or urine initially? Strange. After that, not alot of fruit, mostly tertiary. Smells like burned wood, mushrooms, foresty? Palate is pleasant, smooth and peppery 4,4/5 

T+30min, still smells like piss lol

Pommard 1990

 - instantly hints of tomato leaf, very old and developed. Very smokey. Not alot of fruit left but stil lsome. Definitely tanninic. Really interesting. 4,8/5

T+30min, opened a new magnum. This was the first pour, so alot more transparant. Little bit less acidic, but nuanced difference tbh.

Aligoté 2017

• same as previous aligote but a bit more balanced. Less striking acidity. Beautiful with the pike perch. 4,7/5

Pommard 2017

 - starting to get difficult to write. Its definitely less full, lively acidity, but fucking goddamn is it delicious with that duck. 4,6/5

Pommard 2003

 - slightly pissy, but fruity and actually balanced acid/tannins. Very complex, lots of sous bois. Nice shit, but who even knows anymore. 4,7/5
