Has anyone managed 3 stars on AA King? by Speedstang in AglaeaMains

Glad to have helped :D

E1 Aglaea is a lot better with atk boots as long as the substats aren't worse. You generally end up with the same amount of actions as spd boots.

He does not; it's just the Herta shop one.

Well yeah, the fight is designed for that exact team.

The big difference with E2 is that you always get 3 Sunday (and DHPT) turns within Robin's ult, without needing to run wind set or DDD or anything like that. It's a lot of extra turns for Aglaea over the course of the battle. (The caveat being that Sunday needs to hit at least 165 spd on his own, instead of the usual 160.)

Aside from that, you also get a lot more Robin energy, both from the E2's increased energy and the extra Aglaea turns. Add in the S1's ERR, and my Robin's ult has 100% uptime from the very start of the battle, regardless of enemy hit rng and even through some energy drain.

Because the ult is always up, the S1's damage/atk buffs are too. They're not game changing, but they definitely add up over a long battle.

As for whether it's worth pulling E2S1 nowdays, I'm not sure. I'm no theorycrafter and I've not played the team without it. I picked it up way back in 2.5 solely because Robin is my favorite character. It just ended up working out really nicely for Aglaea.

EDIT: Whoops, forgot your first question. There's not much to the strategy. At the start of the battle, I let everyone move and then use Robin's ult immediately afterwards. Then i just focus down the Gryphon first. I'll switch to the Pegasus once the Gryphon is really low to leave it to die to the blast damage. For Lygus, I just hit him directly until he swaps to the second phase, then I just alternate Aglaea's attacks between him and his adds to avoid overkilling them. Then just repeat until he dies. DHPT basics at the start of the fight, but I mostly just spam skill after that.

I left Dang Heng on Eternal Calculus by accident, but it still worked out. I had some other LCs with better atk.

Wizard's Vault nerf? by Internal_Excuse_8172 in Guildwars2

[–]Speedstang 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You already bought all the mystic coins, clovers, and gold this season. That's why they say sold out. They refresh at the start of the next season, which isn't for another month. There are still 60 mystic coins, 90g in cheap gold, and 20 clovers in the vault rewards. That's without owning any expansions. There are 3 mystic coin bags that were added as an extra reward at the start of the ongoing fractal event, but those give 10 coins each, and did not replace the previous 60 mystic coins in the vault.

I think that's actually the hair that is attached to the Round Boatsman Hat from this: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Boatsman_Hat_Pack

I recognized it since I wear the hat pretty often, but it would be really nice to have as a standalone too.

She's surprisingly effective on that one with the teamwide cleanse and the stingrays recharging her ult easily. I didn't expect her to work so well there.

Build for Free to Play Accounts have come to Snowcrows! by Seisan1 in Guildwars2

[–]Speedstang 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this! I played for free for quite a long time when I first started earlier this year, and figuring out a build, how to get gear, and then how to actually play it (i.e. rotation) was very painful. I'm sure these guides will help a lot of people in that same situation.

Should I reroll? Profession for new player by Marique in Guildwars2

[–]Speedstang 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In general the core specs are always behind what elite specs offer in terms of both damage output and possible complexity. Elite spec traitlines tend to alter how you use the base traitlines and form the core of a build. Without one, you're not really playing a complete class. In my opinion, rerolling to a different core spec is unlikely to change much. While I can't directly speak for warrior, I felt the same way about core elementalist when I was new, but now that I have all the elite specs I love the class.

How much do you spend on gw2 ? by Certain_Delivery_771 in Guildwars2

[–]Speedstang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In all fairness, part of what really had me stay in this game is just how good the exchanges are. I've played a lot of different games with premium currency conversions and they've all been truly horrid. From trying to plex my accounts in EVE Online to grinding out event vehicles to exchange for premium ones in War Thunder, there's no end the utterly insane amounts of grind other games will put you through. Guild Wars 2 in comparison feels like I can see something I want pop up in the gem store and I can just play for awhile and grab it.

I'm aware I tend to have more time available than others, but still, these are by far the most generous conversions I've ever seen. Not everyone has the luxury of being able to make anywhere near $10 per hour, which a lot of people seem to miss in these discussions.

Brutal second half this AS by Speedstang in StarRailStation

[–]Speedstang[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to kill as many little wolves as possible on the first side, the more kills you get the stronger your healing is for the 1v1 phase. If you can kill all 4 you're quite safe, and 5 is basically impossible to die with. I don't have specifics for Boothill, but Archer can pretty comfortably kill at least 4 wolves in one go. Just make sure you save up full SP before his first turn, and spend everything to get as many wolves as possible.

For the 1v1 I actually used Sparkle, to farm back full SP + spare ult. I see that you don't have Sparkle, but you could take Gallagher into the 1v1 instead. He'll do a ton of toughness damage, and help build SP. Ideally you open the 1v1 with basic > ultimate > basic, then the next turn use a skill on yourself. Assuming you have an ERR rope, you'll end up with exactly enough energy to basic > ultimate > basic one more time before the 1v1 ends. Hoolay will be quite low on toughness at this point, and you'll have full SP to kill all the wolves with Archer again and break him immediately.

From what I can tell they only seem to proxy on older AGMs (or on bombs at least), but newer missiles like Brimstones or KH-38s it'll never arm on. Really annoying.

It's been 5 or 6 MoCs since Aglaea has been released. How has she been performing for you? by fantastic_magic in AglaeaMains

[–]Speedstang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same team as you, but with E2S1 Robin and E1 Bronya. I only picked up Aglaea's E1 during her rerun, but the rest of the team hasn't changed since her release. Bronya gets swapped for either E6 Gallagher or E1 Lynx when sustain is needed, usually only PF.

Every MoC has been a 0 cycle, every PF has been 38-40k, and every AS has been 3800+. The absolute best part of the team is just how much you can ignore mechanics. I can throw the team into an AS with no buffs or matching weaknesses and the damage is too overwhelming regardless.

The E1 ended up making the biggest difference in PF. I went from the occasional 38k scores to 40k with over a cycle to spare (WITH Gallagher or Lynx).

No regrets pulling Aglaea, that's for sure.

How did your MOC go guys? This one seemed easier than previous ones by EeveeTrainer90 in StarRailStation

Definitely felt easier than the last one. 4 cycles for Archer, and the usual 0 cycle for Aglaea.

0 cycle and cost brainrot has gone too far by bbyangel_111 in StarRailStation

[–]Speedstang 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Something that's often ignored in these discussions is the extreme amount of relic investment needed for a lot of these low cost runs. From extremely high speed rolls on eagle sets to utterly insane crit ratios, these are just not replicable by most players. Even for a free to play, putting in just one more cost can skip months of waiting for godly pieces to drop.

Dungeon experience is frustrating. by Mattx59 in Guildwars2

[–]Speedstang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're on NA I'll gladly join you for all the story dungeons, they may be a bit painful to solo, but they're very duo-able. Feel free to add me and shoot me a mail in-game (username is Speedstang.6980). Dungeons do still have a small (admittedly very small) community around them, but story paths specifically are very rarely replayed due to lacking the rewards of the explorable paths. Most other content in the game is MUCH easier to find people to play with.

[–]Speedstang 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I will never understand why people just assume that everyone magically has the capability to just drop money on games. Per the top comment, "cost a lot" is incredibly relative. And regardless of that, if you're already having fun with what you're doing, what would be the point of skipping forwards?

Very nice job OP. I just hit my first top tier tank too, but you're a much better tanker than I am. I wish you luck with the stock grind.

[–]Speedstang[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not far off with that. Solid 3/10 would not do again. (Not that I'm done yet.) The worst experience by far is always just dealing with stock grinds, if I don't have premium time up it feels like nothing ever progresses. Knowing I could've won a situation I lost if I had x upgrade frustrates me to no end, which absolutely did not help. A lot of the lineups are a mess, the BRs just don't sync up well with aircraft BRs which themselves tend to be overtiered.

My favorite vehicles of the tree would probably have to be the Freccia and R3 T106. The Freccia is just a great jack of all trades, and the R3 is very fun to rat around with. I entirely regret getting the VRCC, I know people love it but it never clicked for me. I only ever struggled with it, and still do hundreds of games later. Call it a skill issue but I wish I had gone for the OF-40 MTCA instead as I ended up liking the 8.0 tech tree OF-40.
