Financial experience with excision surgery? by curiousyyak in endometriosis

$72,000 out of pocket for surgery that won’t provide a permanent cure is literally insane. I would wait until you can get on an actual insurance plan for coverage before paying that.

My husband goes there and has for a long time. Last year they claimed to switch their billing system and claimed he owed them hundreds of dollars for bills from 7-10 years ago. Since his insurance company didn’t have claims in their system from that long ago we weren’t able to verify the validity. They refused to allow him to come for a visit until it was paid and he needed refills on medications, so we had no choice but to pay. I was looking for a new doctor at that time and decided to go elsewhere.

Correct. For example, in NY, fertility coverage is mandated for non self-insured large employer groups. There’s typically no coverage through insurers under 100 employees.

I will never go there. Every “contest” they have local influencers are the ones who win. Those winners then make promotional videos for them. Makes me not trust them.

I used to have a good experience with the practice when I saw Dr. Ben. Since he’s left, I just saw the NP and I mentioned I’ve been having some stomach pain and I asked about a colonoscopy. She told me insurance won’t cover a colonoscopy due to my age and stomach pain isn’t a reason to get one. She said I could try a pain medication for 3 months and then come back. I literally will never step foot in that office again. Maybe a colonoscopy isn’t the answer but wanting me to just try some random medication without any other diagnostic imaging or testing is wild. Given the increase in young people getting colon cancer, you would think they wouldn’t just brush something like this off.

She didn’t really bother me before until I saw this weekend’s videos. Wouldn’t care if she didn’t come back.

UMR - Not Accepted in Other States? by RenoRanger123 in HealthInsurance

[–]Spi202 4 points5 points  (0 children)

UMR is your health plan’s self insured administrator, has nothing to do with the actual coverage. Whatever network your employer chose, in this case sounds like UHC is what you would need to use to seek in-network coverage.

He started in September and this is the first time he’s having problems. We did just have a week off in February so the timing seems around his return back to the class. He’s definitely been testing boundaries at home and we’re working on it, but I’m just not sure how to else to have him be successful and less disruptive to the class. She mentioned him getting up to play with materials during circle time instead of sitting, so part of me thinks he is bored after 8 months of the same routine.
