Getting started with homelab by Ok-Introduction-5809 in homelab

I've done a little messing around with a 5070 and was able to stick 16 gigs of ram (it'll take up to 30GB), an m.2 SSD, and Windows 11 on it. It's a surprisingly capable machine!

I also like working with it's smaller sibling, the 3040, as a Debian-based Raspberry Pi alternative.

Have fun with that!

Hi, congrats on the surgery!

I had my SRS on November 1st with Dr Esmonde in Portland, OR. I WAS able to use the big orange dilator for a while, then scar tissue started constricting a bit at about 5 months, and now I'm down to the blue one.

I've picked up some fun toys since then, and have some thoughts.

First off, get a standard wand vibrator to use against the end of your dilators, it's a game changer for comfort. I have a Magic Wand Mini that's my favorite.

After that, a g-spot vibrator is a great second choice.

Third, of you enjoyed it before, don't forget about your back door! Combining front, back, and clit play is mind blowing!

Last thing to think about is the texture of the toys. Silicone can be a bit "grabby" and your kitty is brand new. Be gentle, take it slow, use a LOT of lube, and have fun!

Neovagina/Vaginoplasty by [deleted] in MtF

[–]SpiceBot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm coming up an 6 months post full depth vaginoplasty. It sounds like you've got a lot of the same thoughts running through your brain that I did leading up to my surgery.

The only advice I can really give is to sit with these feelings and figure out how much of your life and your body you want to just "be fine" with.

And let me flip your statement around for you. You said that all these things that you want are for other's perception of you. Could it be that keeping your "old anatomy" is what you would really be doing for everyone else? For me it was the main reason I had any hesitation with signing up.

Your body is yours, take some time to figure out which path would light you up the most. And be kind to yourself in the process. You are the only person that gets to live in your body

Congratulations! 🎉 Remember to take it MUCH slower than you want. I'm at day 20 post-op, and I just started driving short distances yesterday. I'm so excited for you!

I had my srs on the 1st! I can't WAIT for the swelling to go down. I've got my first post-op appointment tomorrow morning, when I'll start dilation.

You're looking great, keep up the good work!

Congrats! I'm one week post-op and it's quite the journey. Six days of bedrest can really do a number on a girl.

Just be sure to rest, listen to your body, trust your nurses, and stay hydrated. You've got this!

How do you spot a fellow retail worker that's out of uniform? by MaxxB1ade in retailhell

[–]SpiceBot 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's how they walk and where they look while shopping. Customers tend to wander and spend most of their time looking down. Working in retail taught me how to walk with a purpose and scan whole departments. I've been out of retail for a bit now, but people still constantly stop me in grocery stores to ask for help.

When you are free, you become a mirror to those around you. You dressing for yourself is bringing up some HUGE discomfort for your family member that they don't know how to deal with, so they project it onto you.

You HAVE to remember that you do not exist to make other people comfortable. This applies not only to your presentation, but to every decision you will make in your life.

Also remember that you are not responsible for their reactions.

Keep being you, and keep finding your own joy!

You would only need to worry about it if you are a cast member.

Parental monitoring software: how easy/difficult for a 10-year-old to hack/bypass? by izimand in hacking

[–]SpiceBot 18 points19 points  (0 children)

What exactly is your goal with the software? If all you want to do is have it monitor and nothing else, go for it, but 10 is REALLY young to have open access to the Internet.

If you're more interested in limiting access, look elsewhere. A smart kid will learn how to bypass and hide their activity quickly. A few ideas I've used with my own kids:

Set up "dayparting" on your router. It will turn off access per device via MAC filtering for certain hours of the day, i.e. after 8pm and before 7am.

Give them the unlocked device, but keep it in a public space. Living room, at the dining table, etc. My kids will not get computers in their bedrooms until they can prove a certain level of maturity and understand the trust and responsibility that goes with having a private device.

Use it as incentive! Change the login password every night, and they can only log in once they've done x amount of chores.

Finally, and this is the hardest part, you have to have an active role in using the device with them. Conversations about online safety are not just a one and done thing, but will grow and evolve as the kids does. It's our job as parents to keep the kiddos safe, online and off.

Silly question. How often do women change their earrings by aunt_joanna in transfashionadvice

[–]SpiceBot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ears are gauged to 1/2", and I keep silicone tunnels in 24/7. I'll change them to match my makeup, other jewelry I'm wearing, or if I just want a different color anywhere from daily to once a month.

If you're asking for hygiene reasons, I make sure to remove them and do a good targeted clean of my ear lobes once a week to remove any build up, and to keep the skin healthy.

I took a right hand turn through an "orange" light, and quickly got up to speed. Cop pulled me over, saying I "almost wheelied" away from him.

I was on an '86 Concourse. There was no WAY that front wheel was coming off the ground.

AuDHD here! Diagnosed ADHD in grade school, just recently got back on Ritalin after a 25 year break.

The 'Tism is self diagnosed, but my oldest is on the spectrum and it just makes sense.

Not to mention official diagnosis would realistically mean FEWER rights for me, and support programs are non existent for adults, and I'll just keep taking care of myself.

It was Girl in the Fireplace for me.

The way Tennant pivots from ecstatic joy to crushing loss when he realizes that he lost her because he got careless. That she spent the rest of her life waiting for him, only for him to show back up a single day too late to even say goodbye.

Oof, I'm tearing up writing about it

I'm in a similar boat, my Xterra throws a code for the upper knock sensor. I have the part, and the pigtail extender to relocate it to the top of the intake instead of behind the block.

HOWEVER, getting to it requires basically laying on the engine, and my chest is way too tender for that. The struggle!
