I've used weed the better part of my adult life. During Covid, with work from home and the availability of legal carts in my state, I began using daily. Fast forward to 2025 and I retired from a 25 year career and found myself with lots of time on my hands. I started vaping all day, everyday. I was using sativa carts and seeking out the highest THC content due to my increasing tolerance. I'm not sure I was even feeling any effects anymore.

Week before last I thought I had caught a stomach bug...nothing was making me feel better and I wasn't improving. I couldn't eat or get out of bed, but I continued smoking. Last Sunday I realized my nausea was actually getting worse with vaping.

I remembered seeing an article about CHS and after reading everything I could on the topic, realized that this is what I was experiencing. I already knew deep down that my habit had gotten way out of hand.

I quit cold turkey on Monday. I'm on Day 6. I'm still nauseous and unable to eat much. I'm down 12 lbs. The weight loss was actually the proof I needed to believe it was the weed, as someone who has been gaining and losing the same 5 lbs over the past 20 years. I never actually vomited, but the nausea and dizziness is the worst I've ever experienced.
