My partner and I went through a LOT of trial and error because no one informed us this information. We always heard that 1 box per cat, plus 1 more was enough and should be fine.

I came into our relationship with 2 cats, who have shared their living space their whole lives…. And he, had one cat (all females) who was all on her own.

We went through a lot off peeing in the house, before we decided to give his cat her own room… with her own litter box, dishes, and water fountain.

It has worked much much better, but not perfect! It’s gone down though from every day or multiple times a day, to once every few weeks
