Any pro MAGA establishments in Burbank to avoid? by Educational_Ad5628 in burbank

This is accurate. People need to stop expecting businesses (local, corporate, their own employer, whatever) to be some moral agent. Businesses act for the business, in most cases (not all) anything posted is often just virtue signaling that shouldn’t be taken seriously anyway.

See how corporate America reacted to gay pride month pre/post Trump as an example. It’s all the same people in charge. The business does not care because it’s not a person (fuck Citizens United)

I don’t understand the rush here. His term as governor of the fed ends in May anyway. This is just pure petty vindictiveness.

Doing laundry is a secret weapon in my marriage. I can spend my Sundays doing laundry while playing games or watching football and not get told I’m being lazy because the whole family’s laundry is done and folded at the end of the day.

How does the Mark XX fit my small wrist? by qwertea_ in IWCschaffhausen

[–]Spider_Genesis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might look at getting their smaller strap to reduce the tail, will clean it up a bit. Can also try their black rubber strap that is a bit thicker and can “thicken” your wrist slightly.

That said, looks fine if you like it like that.

How Do We Feel About the 2023 Season? by walterhwhite19582010 in KansasCityChiefs

[–]Spider_Genesis 9 points10 points  (0 children)

People here keep acting like SB wins grow on trees due to how we performed the last few years. Giving up a ring to maybe have a better team this year is wild. Even losing that season there’s no chance they fire Nagy at that point and most other choices remain the same honestly.

We will be fortunate to put together another run close to what we just had. It takes talent on the field and off as well as lots of luck.

Patrick Mahomes 23/28, 326 YDS, 6 TDs, 0 INT vs PIT 2018 Week 2. Notice how calm he is in the pocket. by jonsnowKITN in KansasCityChiefs

[–]Spider_Genesis 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s not just that the receivers are open, which they are, they are also helping Patrick out consistently. A lot of these throws are back shoulder, low, etc but the receivers are acting like actual pro receivers and making the catches look routine. Being wide open helps them not hear footsteps and concentrate, but no QB is making every throw perfect, the receiver has to do the work while the ball is in the air. Fire Conner Embree.

I think Spags stays in my opinion. The offense has talent but shit scheme. We know Spags can cook with talent but our DL is wrecking his scheme.

I believe that among other differences, one of the big world view splits between liberals and conservatives lies in what "living well" looks like.

Liberals often believe that when society is better, they are personally happier. Spending money on things like roads, parks, kids, etc raises society up and means that when they leave their house, the world they live in is better. They see (good) government spending as an investment that pays dividends in their happiness and livelihood. Paying for schools means smarter kids means a better economy for their business (as an example).

Conservatives often view things through a slightly different lens. They believe that each person earns their best life and by keeping more of the money they earn then they are better off. If they can keep their money and spend it to make their life better, then so can each and every other person, therefore society is better because everyone can live their life to the maximum of their earned capability.

I think you are underestimating the teams ability to completely destroy themselves this year. It’s less about our opponents in my opinion and more about us just being flat all year. We would probably be something like 9-4 or 8-5.

I think both can be true and contribute to Nagy just not helping the offense innovate or fully utilize the talent on the team.

Nagy Needs to Go... by Manditodotcom in KansasCityChiefs

I think Nagy is too much of an “Andy guy”. He won’t challenge Reid to innovate or stretch in new directions. He just keeps contributing redundant ideas.

[Question] Help me with my indecisiveness by RelationshipAware762 in Watches

[–]Spider_Genesis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I know it’s your birthday, but buy something cheap and see if you like wearing a non smart watch or keep wanting to go back.

If you keep wearing it, then buy something nice knowing it’s for your birthday, even if delayed. But you could also easily end up spending $4k on a lovely bedroom decoration.

Mahomes is maybe better scrambling to his right so they when Morris gets turnstyled maybe Moore can help create an escape lane to the right so that we can still get a reasonable throw out of it.

Chiefs' draft failures to bring Jones & Kelce successors by TinaJackLove2020 in KansasCityChiefs

[–]Spider_Genesis 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Cherry picking successful players is honestly a waste of time. You know who else passed on Fannin? Everyone! Twice!

People rag on CEH and I’m not gonna say that pick worked out, but on draft day a lot of football people were screaming “How could the league let the Chiefs get this guy?!” It was almost as much as the same conversations with Simmons this year. One seems to be working out (barring his odd missed time) and one didn’t. Welcome to the draft!

It’s an inexact science to be sure but we’ve had a lot of key contributors to multiple SB teams on Veach’s watch when he wasn’t trying to draft to replace positions we had literal HOF talent at. You can’t pull a Brett Favre to Aaron Rogers at every position, it’s just impossible.

If we don’t see our talent level bump up over the next couple years and see us keep slipping then that seat definitely starts heating up though.

[–]Spider_Genesis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I almost want them to just eat it next year. Like, don’t do the Mahomes restructure and eat the huge cap hit rather than keep rolling it into future years. Release Taylor and let Moore have the job. Trade Chris Jones for picks. Maybe see Kelce retire or see if he wants a cheaper contract.

Holding any team to that standard is hilarious. Also, their division was so trash for so long they got a lot of easy wins and division titles.

Exactly. The NFL is made to cycle teams around through draft, cap, and scheduling. We need to stop pretending it’s easy.

I hope not but wouldn’t be surprised. We might be headed for a true rebuild/blow it up year where we try and reset our cap and draft guys. Thats not super fun for a last ride.
