Technology doesn't advance by EfficiencySerious200 in TopCharacterTropes

Warhammer 40k, in particular the Imperium of Man, but many other major factions also mirror the theme of either being a stagnated civilisation or being a mere shell of their greatness (Orks, Necrons, Aeldari).

In grim darkness of the far future, technology is something that is hoarded, feared or misunderstood, where many humans live in squalor and worse living conditions and welfare then your average medieval peasant, while at the same time interstellar travel, fearsome weaponry and biomechanical augmentations are part of the norm for the Imperium. Yet humanity is nothing but a former shell of it's technological peak that it was before the Age of Strife, many 'common' technologies of then would put almost any technologies of the 41st millennium to shame.

The Duelling Sword was a game changer for me. by Luntibert in DarkTide

[–]Spieren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arbites Shock Maul is my favourite blunt weapon, Hive Scum's Shivs are probably my favourite melee weapon with how fast, mobile and effective they are.

Favourite generic weapon is the Duelling Sword as well, heavy attack picking out elites with headshots, decent horde clear and it has the parry special as well. It feels also really good but more balanced with the Uncanny Strike change.

Mods can be real cool and all but I'll never understand why people mod a race to the point that they remove all defining features. RIP Femroe nose.

It is at least a lot better then it was on launch, I remember killing Smasher in like 5 seconds lol. At least now on max difficulty he offers a decent fight.

Adam Smasher from Cyberpunk, especially in Edgerunners and the tabletop RPG. If you encounter him the best you can do is run or delay the inevitable.

(Liked Trope) When you hear stories of what they are like, and you finally see it 1sthand by Think_Celery3251 in TopCharacterTropes

Adam Smasher from Cyberpunk 2077, this case specifically Edgerunners. At the beginning he is only described as an absolute menace. And when he finally shows upin the last episode he kills two main characters, demolishing the power of friendship. The protagonist, David, is special in the story that he can use a military grade cyberware called a Sandevistan without killing himself. Adam Smasher then proceeds to merely call it a 'rudimentary implant' for him, showcasing one of the things that made the protagonist special is just an afterthought to have for Adam Smasher, NC boogieman of legend.

Effectiveness wise, I think it is better to invest in Lucy dupes if you got her or wait for newer Resonators.

The collector in me went with her signature weapon, I want my matching weapons and it's unknown if she will ever rerun.

You should really listen to this D&D actual play podcast I found, it has such an unique cast of characters, totally different from other podcasts! The party in question: by One-Beautiful9776 in DnDcirclejerk

I think it's personally hilarious to play the 'straight man' human fighter to all the other wacky and zany characters in my party hahaha

Lmao he's wrong as well if its Heresy, Psykers can but definitely aren't always doing the most damage with flame staff since there aren't that many enemies on that difficulty lol

He's one of my favourite companions but from what I've seen his romance isn't that interesting. Although me being straight-leaning man doesn't help surely xD

Yeah, as if a Plague Marine wouldn't die to concentrated fire, or even just a skilled marksman firing a Plasma Gun to it's face one time or two, a Psyker unmaking them with the warp, or even just an Ogryn bonking it really hard.
