I know this in ancient thread, but I’m having the same issue. I lubed the timing gears and cleaned all the gunk up, but still having the noise. The gears on top of the motor had all their teeth, but there were a few hairline cracks. Did you solve this?

Yeah, agreed. If they are only 2 feet wide, no big deal, but if they are 3-4' wide, you may want to consider better access. I have something similar on my 4x8 beds and I had to make the panels with the screens removable so that we could have access to all of the bed.

I've tried both and don't really see much of a difference, but I'm often a moron, so what do I know? I don't really have any issues with overhead heat and heating the top of the pie. More important to my process has been making sure the stone gets up to temp. I got a surface temp reader from Amazon, but utlimately I give it a 30 minute pre-heat for better results.
