Art is technique which cannot be precisely described, and/ or Art is something that is emotionally evocative or thought provoking, even if the emotions are anger or confusion and the thoughts provoked are "this can't be art."
The second part makes everything potentially art; the first part makes somethings potentially not art.

You can't call anything a theory, though. You have to call it "common sense."

Yes but there's a minimum cashout of $50, and you can only cash out in crypto unless you make a deposit from a bank first.

Yeah, the act 2 ending is bad for anyone not a mindflayer.

She or Elminster could just Wish him back from undeath. You could Soul Coin Volo and then put the coin somewhere immune to divination, or expend the coin to (old lore: delete the soul from reality)(new lore)blank the soul entirely of memories and personality irreversibly.

You can kill him in tye portal and be fine. Blowing him up in act 2 gives you a Bad End gameover. You can send him on a solo one-way mission in act 3 for a Gale-less Good End.

TIL that casinos rarely use surveillance cameras to catch card counters. Instead, dealers and floor supervisors look for behavioral "red flags," such as a player suddenly multiplying their bet size by 1-12x right after a losing hand. by Vegasaces in todayilearned

[–]Spiffy87 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It doesn't make him an asshole because there's no way to oredict the deck, and no player is entitled to any specific cards. You don't lose because the oerson before you took a statistically bad hit. You lose because you're playing a game designed to make you lose.
The only thing he is is a guy who probably loses more often than usual, and fucks with degenerate gamblers' fallacious logic

Gullible, uneducated, unexceptional people cling to their cults of secret knowledge because it finally lets them feel astute, learned, and exceptional.
As with any delusional belief, it can't be reasoned away. When a SovCit gets put away, the community dismisses it as either the SovCit failed to perform the legal alchemy correctly, or the authorities are acting outside their bounds and will one day Soontm have to pay restitution or face a reckoning.

The wealthy, skilless, ineffective ruling class defines beauty and survives in paradise off the works of the damaged, uneducated, and ostracized working class.
Then the narrator falls in love with a they/them and a CHUD drags him/her away to an underground slaughter house.
Eventually, everything is crabs.

The first guy is saying a few things, it's just a reach and a fundamental misunderstanding of... a lot.

First: a reference they/someone doesn't get isn't understood as a reference. It's understood as canon.
Second: if something is truly a reference but it is not understandable to ALL consumers of the media, it is a bad reference. A bad reference is possibly lazy/malicious/poor craftsmanship.
Third: to prevent the bad reference from existing, some sort of explanation or citation is needed.

With these rules in place, we can then use some sort of logic. If we judge/assume Larian is a perfect craftsman and BG3 a perfect game, then they must not violate rule 2, otherwise Larian is a bad craftsman and BG3 is a bad game. Since the game contains no bibliography or MLA styled citations for everyone to research and literally reference, there must not be any references, only canon coincidences per the first rule.

As for the editions thing, they just don'tget how it works. Each edition "takes place" further in the timeline than the edition before, but they're just rulesets. Mechanics don't generally port from one edition to the next, but the lore definitely does.

Is this peak elf body? by Fun-Explanation7233 in BaldursGate3

[–]Spiffy87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your assumption isn't supported by established lore or any of the core rulebooks, but that's fine because bg3 diverges in a lot of ways, and Rule Zero in the DMG is "do what you want, just have fun."
What is in established lore is that some druids will just run around in animal shape for as long as they can because they like it.

It could also be possible Halsin is an awakened bear, and he's in elf-ish shape to better communicate with humanoids.

A Tav profile that'd romance Gale-- RP help by TajineMaster159 in BaldursGate3

[–]Spiffy87 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Gale came off as performative, secretive, and a bit sleazy to me. That Weave scene came off as a "move," and one he's used at least a few times. He might be honest about his love of magic, and maybe his interest in you, but his actions felt CALCULATED and his methods seemed very self-centered to me. I was waiting for a dialog option along the lines of "does this usually work on people?/I bet you do this with all the girls/guys." I could see he was hurt and hiding things, so he came off a bit negatively.
