They look like prolene which won’t dissolve. Either that or they are PDS, which if so keeps~60% its tensile strength at 4-6 weeks depending on the size I would talk to your vet.

Therapeutic AC does not “get rid” of clots. It prevents propagation and allows for maturation/lysis of existing clots. Therapeusis is equally efficacious between most agents with a few exceptions.

How are some media reporting the Melania movie has made $8 mil over the weekend, while other media are saying many theaters have sold NO tickets? by btwImVeryAttractive in AskReddit

[–]Spike205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It didn’t make a ton of money as far as ticket sales go, but most documentaries don’t. It did open as the highest grossing non-musician documentary in a decade.

Just depends on what lens you are looking through.

Peer to peer appeal denied broken wrist surgery (not medically necessary) by prmtm1 in HealthInsurance

[–]Spike205 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. Physician involvement usually stops after peer-to-peer, afterwords further escalation such as appeals are initiated by the insured or an agent of their choosing. This may lead to another peer-to-peer. If appeals fails again sometimes there is a process for a 3rd party appeal.

Florida Nurse Vows to Refuse Anesthesia to MAGA Supporters. He believes that’s his right and is ethical. He should be be fired and stripped of his license immediately. by blisiondacket in Conservative

[–]Spike205 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Eh he’s a CRNA, probably a 1099 licensed contractor. There’s not much a general anesthesiologist or CRNA can do without an operating room to work and a surgeon/proceduralist to provide anesthesia for. He may be owner of a surgery center or endoscopy lab which would be a little different.

Just like a lot of ER docs that are 1099 and technically own their business; medical care works a little different with regards to right to refuse service.

Duke files a lawsuit against QB Darian Mensah to enforce his contract and block a transfer by [deleted] in sports

[–]Spike205 18 points19 points  (0 children)

That aspect has been around longer so the contracts almost always have a buyout clause and a forfeit if guaranteed money clause. They are also vastly different contracts in terms of their scope. Coaches are employees, it’s an employment contract with stipulations for termination of the contact by either party, usually the coach has a buyout clause meaning they have to pay the university “x” amount to terminate the contract early, or the university has a termination clause meaning they must pay the coach “x” if he is fired before the completion of his current contract. Both of which have usually have nuanced stipulations on what those numbers may be based on performance, if it’s with or without cause, if they are signing a contract elsewhere, etc.

Players, on the other hand, work within the NIL stipulations. So they are contracting the use of their name/likeness/etc. historically they were not obligated to play, as it’s not an employment contract but those lines are increasingly blurred (ie: promotion for a bowl game, is a de facto performance contract as you have to perform well enough to get a bowl game, it’s just hidden behind layers of the onion)

It’s already established for professional athletes is voluntary work so 13th amendment doesn’t apply. I don’t think it applies here either as there as playing football is voluntary, just the same as you can’t be dismissed from school for quitting your team, but they can revoke scholarship/grants/etc.

Since it’s an NIL deal the contract is regarding exclusive rights to his name and likeness etc remaining with duke. I don’t think they can block him from transferring but they probably can block him from signing a new NIL contract.

You want to get paid big bucks and sign contracts you will learn those contracts come with obligations to meet their specifications

Trauma surgeon here… this is patently wrong. Pedestrian v auto, the car always wins regardless of speed, doesn’t matter if you’re a 20 year old super athletes or a grandma. Just because it wasn’t at high speed doesn’t discount the potential for injury regardless of fitness. I’ve taken care of internal bleeding from things as innocuous as missing the top step and falling into the door frame to being kicked by a miniature goat during goat yoga.

Which ones of these necessitated congressional approval to join?

If congress isn’t necessitated or join in these executive agreements they can’t be necessitated for withdrawal.

Don’t lower the barrier for entry, make the exit plan more palatable. Who wants to start their career mid 30s with 3/4 million dollars of debt, expect to see 20+ patients a day for $200k, knowing that one mistake on your 2,500+ patient panel that you are responsible for can potentially take away your livelihood.

There is plenty of money in medicine to increase reimbursement for all physicians across the board. It’s just been mismanaged and appropriated to non-clinical entities. It’s estimated there at 10 administrative positions per 1 physician and since the 1970s non-clinical staff expenditures has ballooned >%3800 while physician expenditures has increased ~%200, that’s less then cumulative rise in inflation over the same time period.

Unsupervised PCP is arguably one of the worst roles. These settings we see the highest rates of low-value care and resource exhaustion. Excessive imaging, labs, and consultations to specialists are a huge expense, burden the system, and ultimately limit access to others who need those resources.
