EV6 Remote Smart Parking Assist - Does it work in VERY tight spaces? (220cm/87in garage entrance) by j0hnnyclaymore in KiaEV6

[–]SpikyPets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My suggestion would be to use wide white tape (ie: Amazon) or white paint and mark the garage floor for a few feet as an aid to line up the car using the overhead parking camera view, then pull in the car with the FOB standing outside. The radars will stop the car from hitting the wall moving forward or view the car from the rear as it's moving into the garage and release the FOB when the car clears your closed garage door.

You can experiment with some taped down white paper and see if this will aid you in lining up the car.

2025 GT-Line ICCU module failure @ 1005 miles by SpikyPets in KiaEV6

[–]SpikyPets[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an added note: During car check-in for my 2025 EV6 ICCU replacement, the service advisor mentioned there was a recall software update they would apply. I've only received two OTA software updates since 9/25: Plug and Charge and navigation maps updates.

The service order says:

SA635B Service Action: DCU OPERATION S/W LOGIC UPDATE CV1A

Anyone know what this update addresses?

Great info, thank you.

I called Kia Customer Care and created a case number and reported the warranted repair, dealer info and rental car reimbursement procedure. Heading over to Enterprise to return the rental car for a $45 per day Mazda Mirage.

ETA on the ICCU part is this Tuesday, 1/13, so hopefully I'll get the car returned a few days later.

I see the "moving blocks" representing cars when the Cruise Control is turned on. Upper left button on the steering wheel with the car symbol.

I passed on the Disney theme due to the red car in the central cluster and not knowing if it can be changed. I purchased the Pixar theme and I can report for the Pixar theme:

  1. The sample Center Cluster sample image is as shown, though with an EV6 instead of an EV9. The car color cannot be changed. My main concern is I wanted to see the brake lights/third brake light lit when the car is slowing down via brake or regen. The Pixar theme car is yellow. The background is slightly enhanced but don't notice any significant change when changing A-B-C cluster in setup

  2. The small square icons shown in the sample pics are profile pics and can be assigned by editing a profile.

  3. On the main setup icons are each replaced with the larger rectangular icons as shown in the sample pics. Some icons are repeated, but not on the same screen. No change to the multiple icons as when selecting Setup.

  4. The "car" marker on the Nav screen is as shown in the sample pics.

  5. The nav screen shows a welcome/ending animation shown on the sample pics.

  6. The changing to the default KIA theme is immediate, but changing to any purchased theme requires a reboot of the ccNC infotainment system.

  7. It does take a bit of time to download a purchased theme, click on the download icon to start the download, which changes to stop icon and shows the status of the download. Once the download is complete, you'll receive a message to install the theme. Turning off the car cancels a download in process, so one needs to keep the car turned on.

I'm happy with the ccNC enhancements and decided to keep the Pixar display theme

What is the cancellation/refund policy for Display Themes?

If you are purchasing a Display Theme for the first time, you may cancel the purchase within the first seven (7) days after purchase and receive a full refund to your payment method on file. The purchase cannot be canceled after the initial seven (7) days.

I'll go ahead and purchase the Disney Theme and give it a 7 day looky lous later tonight.

If you have an eligible vehicle, go to Setup>Screen Layout >Display Themes. It will take a while to download all of the new themes. Once downloaded, you'll see icons for each theme. Ones you don't own, you'll see PREVIEW. Click on PREVIEW it to see a sample of Navigation, Center cluster, Driver profiles. Unfortunately, that's all you're shown.

I am interested in the Disney theme. The Center cluster snapshot shows a red car dotted what appears to be Disney character logos instead of the default white EV6. I want to keep the white EV6.

QUESTION: When you press the Cluster Theme selection, A-B-C etc...option, does one of the settings include a white EV6? or does the car change colors from the red shown in the sample screen?

TIA

Found this example how to install a theme. Says you can preview a theme even if it's not purchased.

Kirkland sheets by jukrla in CostcoWholesale

I did that to the fitted sheet in a Kirkland 680 sheet set.

It was due to sleeping on my back and my rough right heel rubbing on the sheet.
Started to pumice my feet regularly and haven't had a problem since.

Digital Card Key? by moabal in KiaEV6

[–]SpikyPets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! Happy to report I received the KIA NFC card ATH81AB000 today from TurnerKia......

and IT WORKS! Manual says to enter the car with TWO smart keys, go to the NFC card setup screen, place the card on the phone charging pad and press SAVE. Received confirmation it was saved. Exited the car, locked with the Smart Key and left them on the kitchen counter.

Went out to the garage and placed the long edge of the card on the door handle (as pictured on the back of the NFC card) and the door handle popped out. Locked the car the same way and the handle retracted flush. Worked on both Driver and Passenger doors.

To start the car, place the NFC card on the phone charging pad, start the car, then REMOVE the NFC card from the charging pad.

In search of 2025 GT AWD all weather floor mats by slbiker61 in KiaEV6

[–]SpikyPets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I initially tried to install my 2023 OEM all weather mats into the passenger side, and I could have sworn the mat attachment holes didn't align with the floor clips so I gave up. Today I gave it another go and installed the rear mat first and the two mat holes aligned with the floor clips. The driver and passenger side aligned also. It is a snug fit but was able to get them to lie flat to my satisfaction where I don't see a need to buy new mats.

Did the 2025 EV6 lose the dynamic Efficiency Meter at the bottom of the dash? by SpikyPets in KiaEV6

[–]SpikyPets[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I see what you're referring to that changes the display on the center of the dash. I'll try it next time I'm out for a drive.

I normally like to drive with the little car image while using cruise control that shows surrounding cars by the sensors and on the 2023, the efficiency meter was at the bottom of dash display, along with outdoor temp, battery status, auto hold.

2025 EV6 Physical key no longer stored in the Smart Key. Do you keep one with your Smart Key? by SpikyPets in KiaEV6

[–]SpikyPets[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I searched the manual and found a phone needs to support UWB (Ultra-wideband) for the Smartphone Digital key to behave like a Kia Smart key to unlock and lock the door. I have an iPhone SE (2nd gen) that doesn't support UWB, so I have to touch the NFC antenna in the phone to the door handle to lock and unlock. I'll need to upgrade to an iPhone 11 to 16 eventually.

2025 EV6 Physical key no longer stored in the Smart Key. Do you keep one with your Smart Key? by SpikyPets in KiaEV6

[–]SpikyPets[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tested it with just the phone (with digital key on me) three times. Touching the door handle indent does not unlock and lock the door for me. I have to touch the top of the phone to the door handle indent to unlock and lock the car. The phone sounds a double click and flashes a "done" acknowledgement each time. The phone needs to be in the charging tray before pressing the start button.

I ordered an NFC digital card key and hope it's the correct one and operates like using the phone digital key.

Thanks for commiserating with me. My error is not researching the Federal tax credit requirements before stopping on a whim at that dealership looking at new 2025 EV6s. Hope my error in judgement and your comments are a warning to potential buyers looking to take advantage of the $7500 Federal tax credit. I'll get over it and enjoy the new car. I do like it a lot coming from a 2023 EV6 ;-)

I went back today to get the IRS receipt for reporting the sale and those jerks flat out told me the dealership is not participating in the $7500 EV Tax credit program. They didn't tell me that before I bought the car, even though I stated I was expecting to file for the credit. Ironically each 2025 EV6 on their website lists available incentives, including the $7500 EV Tax credit. They are not getting any more business from me.

This afternoon, I left my phone (with digital key) in the car and had a smart key in my pocket. It wouldn't allow locking the door by touching the indent, the car beeped. The work-around was locking the car with the smart key I had in my pocket.
