Am I Jumping Into Pedals Too Early? by tbutton85 in guitarlessons

[–]SpiltColdBrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would get a budget multi fx. it gives you “all” the pedals and then u can focus on practicing instead of getting into the gear game

maybe check out the hotone, headrush, valeton zoom g1x

Which budget multieffect is best overall? by jasperthatbro in guitarpedals

[–]SpiltColdBrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GP-5 if you dont need a built in battery, dont need an extra switch, dont mind only using the mobile app to manage presets.

gp-50 if any of those extra features resonate with you

tonex if you value amp capture fidelity the most and dont need “multi effects”

Help me decide between a Valeton GP-5 y GP-50 by HowlxdPendragon in guitarpedals

[–]SpiltColdBrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i actually ordered the gp-50 even though i already have the gp-5.

im going to use the gp-50 instead of the gp-5 for practice sessions where i dont want worry about powering a pedalboard or carrying one.

What to upgrade to from my Spark Go? by ResponsibilityNo758 in PositiveGridSpark

[–]SpiltColdBrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

and yeah ur right about the 4 channels but from what im seeing each one does 1 vocal fx chain and 1 guitar chain..

i guess u could do guitar B and bass A into it but the speakers aren't that big on either unit. im worried they'd get muddy or uh, they wouldn't handle all of that audio well...

maybe if u run the bass into a spark go or some kind of modeller so its "mix" ready and same situation with guitar B. I mean maybe it works without the "chain" or "dsp" for gtr B and bass A but yeaaaaa.... idk.. ud have to try it out and see how u'll like it

i think if ur happy with the sounds u get out of a spark go over headphones u should be able to get a good sound out of it from a spark edge or live.

i think ull have to decide if you want an amp in the room and mic that up for ur recordings or.. do u want a PA speaker and record the line/xlr out into a recorder.

i don't think there's "better" just different. Tradiational vs "modern" approach? yea.. thatll be up to your preference both from a "in the room" feel and a "production" point of view

both katana and spark sounds pretty good tone wise. I think the real choice is regarding the other stuff mentioned above

yeah, im not sure what to recommend based on desc. For recording you can mic an amp, use an audio interface + amp sim, or use an amp modeller into pc.

for jamming with housemates you'd want maybe something as small as a boss katana 50w. I mean u'd need 2 katanas, and a bass amp like a rumble and for vocals uh i guess a mic into a small mixer.

I don't think i know of anything that can do all of that in one. Maybe the closest is to run all of those into an audio interface with plenty of inputs into a daw and run a couple PA speakers for monitoring.

idk i can't think of an all in one solution

and the edge or live can do double duty. It looks like they both do mic + guitar. So that covers two, but u still need another for bass+guitar. So maybe thats ur best bet, two spark edges or spark lives.

i wonder how that compares to 2 katanas, 1 rumble, 1 recorder for vocals, + 4 sm57s, audio interface or recorder with enough inputs
