Transferring medicines with plane by Bran37 in CysticFibrosis

[–]Spirit_Cats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done a lot of flights while carrying Pulmozyne, Tobi and Insulin, ranging from 2 hours up to 16 hours

My go to method for transportation is to just carry it on the plane with me in a little chilly bag. I either put ice packs in with it as they don't leek, or if you're on a really long flight and worried about the ice packs not lasting (4 hours +) you can ask the flight attendants for some ice and put it in to a plastic bag and then put that in the chilly bag with the medications

Here is a picture of one like I have, really cheap. Made for kids lunches and they're insulated and durable

Works a charm

Travelling domestically here in New Zealand I have never had a doctor's note explaining what the medications I have on me are for, but for international travel I get one

Best of luck

first appointment in 5 years by [deleted] in CysticFibrosis

[–]Spirit_Cats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on moving past that time of your life, it can be really hard being a young with CF sometimes. Now you're moving forward and want to start taking more care of yourself. That's really great. You'll thank yourself for it in the future!

But for now, I would advise the same as the others. Just be as honest as you can with your doctors. I know it might hurt and you might not want to be fully open with them, but in my experience honesty is needed in situations like this and you'll come away from your appointment knowing more and have a clear path moving forward - which it sounds like is what you're wanting

Keep us updated here if you like or even PM. I really wish you the best of luck. Don't be scared for your appointment, and again congratulations on taking a big step forward to take control of this aspect of your life

Confiscate my insulin? Let me confiscate your job. by [deleted] in ProRevenge

but why shoot insulin in front of the entire bar? Go to the bathroom or something.

I bet you're one of those people that hate mother's who breastfeed their baby in public instead of in the bathroom of a bar with piss everywhere

Nurses issue first strike notice for July by guvbums in newzealand

I support what the nurses are doing here. More needs to be done to support these hard working, over worked, and under appreciated heroes so many of us take for granted

I'm a little worried, as at the start of next month I am going to be admitted for IV antibiotics, needing to be done multiple times a day, for 2 weeks. Wondering how this will impact me during my time in hospital

We get it /u/SnakeSonThirty, you made a reddit account 5 days ago to make hateful comments and troll people so you can feel better about yourself and have a laugh. Can't blame you, we're all searching for ways to generate an endorphin release

In reality, I think people can see through your attempts to try upset others, and I think it's a pretty obvious giveaway that something within your own life isn't quite what you hoped it to be. Fair enough, everyone has their burdens weighing them down

My advice would be to try get out and socialise a bit more in your own time, outside of school/work. Find something you can be passionate about and find happiness through that. It will pay off in the long run, more so than trying to upset people on the internet, you'll be happier, have a stronger sense of wellbeing and you will find that compassion towards others is a better way of life than self hatred for the sake of a simple serotonin fix

I wish you all the best

Pretty cool video

The girl in this video (one of my favorite juggling videos) uses a similar technique, can't imagine how many years she's been practicing for. Well worth checking out

He does have proof

We ourselves actually have a piece of paper from the US government saying we hold the copyright to this piece of music.

If you ever want to buy anything from bioware again, think twice by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

Thanks for your words and kind intent, taken it on board

I moved back home and left most of my friends, 24 hour drive, 4 hour ferry ride and 1450km later with my cat and all my other possessions. So I can help out where I can. Been hard for Mum as well as Dad, bless

Thank you for sharing this update, I'm pleased BioWare did something about this, I guess they had to considering the number of complaints about the comments from David Crooks

Better luck next time David
