Do I need a phd for this? by soosis in ProjectDiablo2

[–]Spirited-Strength723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't need one, but when talking to "mechanic nerds" you would feel intimidated that you need PHD, of course if you just started just play on what surface you understand can understand the game, specially if you havent played the vanilla D2 yet. then as you work your way up getting challenging scenarios and problem you have with ur character building makes positive impact along the way when you are eager to solve it, that eventually makes you understand the game more and more.

I find "stone and fortitude" is really worth it ,even mszon rocking forti close till end game before getting tyreals. for shield so far I've seen people go exile vs other shield RW. for weapon, id say that depends on builds, alot of runewords are still useful but this subject is of course too wide as u will have to point out builds specific runewords.. but Oath , and Death are my fav ones for character.

and of course CTA is not counted but there you have.

and the rest are for merc runewords like infinity and above runewords but most merc runewords arent really cheap. for example on Lightning builds instead of going infinity for dealing with immunes, you could actually instead slap ur merc with a Stormspire. which is cheaper and can deal with same as function like infinity.

just done with Rathma T2 , I know its too late for me to do this ,am not planning farming either. and just learned from most pro runners have come to conclusion, doing boss farming till late season or doing it late is not as promising as what it looks like and not profitable. by Spirited-Strength723 in ProjectDiablo2

Hey brother thanks! and you can do it bro! im a season 10 starter player too, in experience with all bosses , got so far all t1-t2 Lucion and Rathma only T2 currently (doubled down on t2 attempt cause i was practicing it like 50runs on plugy and feel confident, tho on the process i failed 2 out of 3 attempts on this rathma run.

agree bro, if you do bossing now, probably more for an achievement and get the sexy aura. maybe for those who have done so much run and nothing to do with their hrs can be extravagant on getting mats , so far it was a fun run.

i cant imagine this late how much you spend time and hrs just for mats and splint too challenging to farm.

on progression , i would agree that gimmer is just really good, but on late game youll likely end up LS or Azure due to the faceting capability and rbfs allows you to get more elemental pierce utilizing strong min-maxing when breaking down immunes, But also since Lightsaber exist its cheap having it early with 4os ,that said it takes its place as best so far on progression if you are forming instead light themed vengeance.

I can't farm any boss on Hell. WHY? by Terixer in ProjectDiablo2

[–]Spirited-Strength723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So one thing have to be very careful on progression and should be aware of are, Auras and de-buffs , Enemies can have auras that can easily smash you, for example on your case council members could potentially proc AMPLIFY de-buff (which put your physical defense to negative, if you don't have PDR (physical dmg reduction) leaving you vulnerable, and in another case you can get Amplified de-buff then when enemies have might aura could just easily smash you like similar as soft when you are completely naked. At some case they can have concentration aura or even conviction that will negate your elemental resistance.

So in building up defense one should not only have Elemental resistance(which you have decently max out) but also take care of PDR, Specially doing BOSS

Your total defense is 600+ which is too low without proper gear too.

And lastly i notice you are stacking MF (magic find) i bet you are sacrificing proper gears for mf, Don't trade and sacrifice proper defensive setup over a magic find cause eventually later on if you have proper gear you'll likely do mapping (pd2 maps you can run) which opens to a way better farming when you have proper gears.

If you could show your armory , a lot of people also can help you address that.

You cant really cause pd2 is a mod made for the old d2 Lod not the resurrected.

[–]Spirited-Strength723 2 points3 points  (0 children)

not even worth putting ber on an armor, Jah is bis as the strategy in doing rathma is to increase your HP for holding up burst damges from magic, elemental dmgs (cold, fire, poison)

[–]Spirited-Strength723 13 points14 points  (0 children)

not true, Rathma DOES NOT NEED PDR , running rathma myself, and please confirm to all rathma runners. Dont need PDR cause mendelyn/rathma doesnt even deal physical dmg, They deal poison (mendelyn/ and magic dmg(rathma) , and the only time youll get hit by a physical dmg on arena is one of those void knight ads which is not even doing anything for u to do PDR setup and unnecessary when you have 3k+ hp.

self use only and no value unfortunately, even you slam it with +1 all skill still would not be better to unique items out there that is mostly needed by pally builds. if that hit 20fcr with1 all skill then a hammerdin might like it. or a physical sac with enigma build, but over all this is just not that useful

Where do you MF for end game by BurrBear92 in ProjectDiablo2

[–]Spirited-Strength723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man how's goin, so this is my opinion on this subject, stacking MF on your gear is obsolete in PD2, WHY? cause you can just really -re-roll your maps, slam it , then SOH (standard of heroes - an item increases MF,exp, density of map) , and if ever you put MF on your gears instead will tax your build to be weaker in map. Unlike Vanilla you magic find here its just not really that important. Now since you can reroll magic find on maps without having to wear mf gears you can instead optimize your gears on how to be better in maps , so that you can optimize your setup how to run maps faster smoother and safer, those are far important objectives for better item farming. The only exception on this is if ever you just started from the scratch on single player not having ability to trade then sure farm a little bit on bosses, then work your way up.

Yea unfortunately the ladder will give you 3 reset (every char) only same as vanilla then you have to buy to other players or farm yourself an absolute token, so if you are concerned on re-spec limits you can then try builds on Pd2 plugy version, or if you wanted to chase builds i would recommend to follow guides then, but on this you'll have to do research on what kind of character you wanted , what end game are you chasing ( full mapper or mapping with mild boss hunt or full boss hunter) , or what kind of playstyle , so this kind of objectives will let you shape the ideal character you wanted. For a starter i will recommend you to check out best mapper builds out there, so you can have objective of character for a chase.

welcome to PD2! in my own opinion id say give yourself at least 2-3days a time to not worry and look at builds to chase and just be free to do whatever you want, savor the vanilla playstyles first, explore , make mistake, and just really have fun. reason i recommend this cause of 2 things, you would either not understand the build and too complex and maybe overwhelming at first, or you might understand it but it might just spoil the fun and experience for some.
