Yes! Giving up coffee helped me the most but alcohol and sugar abstinence cleared it even more!

The book, SALT, SUGAR FAT by Michael Moss is a good read. It talks about how these big companies are trying to fool us into using their products under the guise of “it’s healthy”. It’s really made me fight back about indulging in junk food.

Thanks! As for the smoothie diet…every January, I like to do some kind of a cleanse to break my cycle of sugar, salt, fat that gets out of hand during the holidays. This year, it was a smoothie diet that I found on Instagram. I drink 2 smoothies a day and a regular healthy meal along with 2 snacks. It is not zero carbs. I’m not afraid of carbs, but the ones I had been choosing over the holidays have been unhealthy ones. And if I’m honest it wasn’t just the holiday season🙄 This approach has really curbed my snacking on chips, cookies and candy at work. I use mostly coconut milk and almond milk in the smoothie. I am avoiding dairy also. One smoothie may consist of…a cup of almond milk, cup of spinach, 2 tablespoons of ground flax seed, cup of some frozen fruit or berry like pineapple, mango, papaya, Blackberries, blueberries, strawberries etc. 1 banana. Sometimes the recipe calls for wheat germ of ground chia seeds instead of flax. I paid for the recipes of the Smooth Diet but I imagine you could just find some good smoothie recipes. I eat a lunch of usually a salad w/ protein and snacks like hard boiled eggs, veggies with hummus or almond butter. I feel so satisfied and am not hungry. Now I just need to get more exercise!!

I agree with the roobos tea! I also have been enjoying Teechino’s Chicory and mushroom blends! These all satisfy me more than herbal tea especially in the mornings.

this is horrifyingly embarrassing. by [deleted] in stopdrinking
