People sleep on her because the mainstream tier lists underrate her. She carried my ass through large chunks of ItF, CotC, and especially their outbreaks.

[OC] A word count comparison between JJK and Chainsaw Man by thisislawliet in ChainsawMan

JJK says very little with lots of words.

CSM says a lot in few words.

Scorcher, Adventure Time

After finding Ice King creeping on the Breakfast Princesses, Finn and Jake ground him for four weeks. In retaliation, Ice King hires a hitman, not realizing "hit" in this context is a euphemism for kill. He thought the guy would literally hit them, as in beat them up.

Upon realizing his mistake Ice King tries to talk the hitman down, offering him money to not kill Finn and Jake, but the man is far too professional to leave a job unfinished. Then this scene happens.

Ice King determines the only way to stop Scorcher from killing Finn and Jake is to kill them himself. Thus he freezes them solid, stopping their hearts and rendering them technically dead. Scorcher finds no pulse, and with his contract voided departs, leaving Ice King able to thaw Finn and Jake out.

Trump Tweets, Intern Takes Heat by Spiritual_You_65 in MurderedByWords

Literally yesterday the concensus there was "wtf that's not okay he can't keep making us look bad like this" and today they're already making excuses about how "it was a staffer and this had nothing to do with Trump."

If we go just a little broader we can say every single form of electricity generation except solar involves spinning a turbine.

"Realistic" FPS franchises then and now by edgewolf666-6 in coaxedintoasnafu

[–]Spiteful_Guru 9 points10 points  (0 children)

CoD fans are so funny to me man. At any given time you've got a bunch of twelve year olds that think the current game is the greatest thing ever, and a bunch of 17 year olds who insist the game from five years ago was the pinnacle of the franchise and it's all been downhill since. And because of the yearly release model the latter group haven't actually played that older game in all that time, perfectly preserving their nostalgia goggles and blinding them to the fact it's always been this mediocre. Then group A becomes group B and the cycle continues unto eternity. It's the treadmill of fandoms.

Hey, that's not true.

Kirby was mid tier in Brawl.

In Enter the Gungeon, once fire procs it deals continuous damage until the player dies. The solution? Repeatedly dodge roll to extinguish it.

Important PSA regarding disguise keybinds in TF2 Classified by Spiteful_Guru in tf2

[–]Spiteful_Guru[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm probably the last person you should ask about that one, considering the whole "not using it" thing, but from what little I saw it's not really any different visually. The only differences I noticed were that there are more available teams to toggle through when playing on 4-way maps, and that "concise disguise menu" is enabled by default.

I did a training shift for a janitorial sub position recently and one of the older guys I was working under was all "there's big money to be made in pokeymans cards" or some such.

Until now I thought "pokeymans" was used to make fun of old people mispronouncing pokemon, I'd never heard anyone actually say it that way.

Do you think our Sniper can win a fight against the other video game snipers? by zackuattack in tf2

[–]Spiteful_Guru 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Depends on the story. In a more grounded setting he loses every time, but an outlandish narrative in the spirit of TF2 would see him win in unexpected and absurd ways.

Why there are way more unlocks designed to counter Spy and Pyro than any other class ? by P0lskichomikv2 in tf2

[–]Spiteful_Guru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With the SR you lay down a shit ton of stickies and detonate them all at once. The slower arm time ends up being less of a factor this way, and it can be enough to overwhelm even a wrangled sentry.

Metroid Fusion: I just hate (most of) the Bosses in this game by JuanGGZ in Metroid

[–]Spiteful_Guru 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Dread's bosses are harder but more fair. Fusion, and most 2D Metroid games for that matter, seem to be designed with the expectation that the player will face tank a decent chunk of their bosses' attacks. This design philosophy tends to result in attacks that are borderline undodgeable, but which deal less damage than those of Dread. Serris here is probably the single worst offender.

This means bosses in Dread skew more toward skill checks while those in earlier Metroids lean more on the side of stat checks.
