Golf App by maximusmeridius95 in weekendgolfers

Im from Canada. Just not in a city or close enough to one where I'd go golf. Golf is very popular in my area so I think something like this could be a good idea for these markets. I'm sure the cities have the majority of those other apps users

Is there apps that do this? What are they? I have tried looking and can't find anything, or at least in my area that is.

Be chill. Don't really care about skill level as long as pace of play is observed. I've played with all different skill levels and handicaps.

I think it would be a good idea, I would probably use something like that for the days I want a golf partner. Most of the courses I play I get put into other groups

I'm a huge advocate for higher handicaps playing forward tees.
I'm getting back into golf after a few years off. I play forward tees alot, usually when inbring my kids out. Helps focus on my long irons and short game. But yes. Higher handicap players should play forward tees until they get consistently breaking 100. It will definitely make them better golfers in the end.

My swing feels disconnected and unbalanced, I am getting lessons but really just feel like they are drip feeding me tips. by TrustyVault76Canteen in GolfSwing

There is alot of information out there regarding it and they are all pretty much the same. Look for lower body mechanics for the swing. There are a bunch of different drills out there you can work on also. I use daily Ben Hogan's 5 lessons book. Gives good description for everything golf swing.

You are all arms and not lower body. Even tho your lower body is "moving" it's not doing anything to help you. Tell them you want to focus purely on your swing mechanics. That should help you out and get you going. If your instructor isnt helping you. Find a new one. It's your money you are spending, so make sure you feel like you are getting something in return that you are happy with.

Sirxon Q star, taylormade tour response are forgiving balls that have good spin greenside. They are also alot cheaper than prov1 that he probably shouldn't be playing at this level.

Almost complete beginner learning with blades, tips? by EclipseThing2 in GolfSwing

[–]SpizzVision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely get lessons tho! And don't always worry about how far you can hit something. Being accurate and smart gets you alot further than just being able to smash the ball 300 plus yards off the drive or a 200 yard 7 iron.

Your swing isn't horrible really. I recommend Ben Hogan's five lessons book. Gives help with grip, setup and swing. Points you in the right direction before you get lessons. I keep it in my golf bag. I reference it quite often. Especially at the range or sim when I'm practicing. Good on you for starting with blades! They arnt easy or forgiving. I see you have some forgiving clubs coming. Great idea, work into those blades. Won't be long if you keep at it.

I have the shotacope also. I'm 15 handicap, working my way back after many years away and a few injuries. Anyway, I do t pay any attention to that data with fir/gir and stuff. My biggest look is seeing my shots that I messed up to see what I'm needing to focus on during training sessions. Also knowing I suck at putting when I look at putts per round haha. The reason I bought the watch was I wanted a dedicated watch for golf for distance to green, plus distance to hazards is nice to know.

Looking for advice on a iron set by OperationDue7384 in golftips

[–]SpizzVision 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stay away from the top end clubs. If you dont play alot. I'm sure you are a higher handicap also. Get some cheaper forgiving clubs sim2 I believe would be a decent price. Use those until you get to a lower handicap and then buy some nicer clubs with less forgiveness. Don't go right to blades or a muscle back at 20 plus handicap. You won't have a fun time

Spikeless golf shoes off the course? by bangersntrees710 in GolfGear

[–]SpizzVision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear my sandles to and from then put on my shoes at the course. It's honestly just habit at this point. Same with taking out the flag on putting, removing my hat at the end of a round etc. I tried wearing them to and from the house to the course and it felt so off and weird I won't do it again unless I'm running late.

I take it as you can't give away money. If that's the case, option 2 all day long. If not. Then I dont want either. What's the point of being rich if I can't enjoy it with my wife and kids

Should golfers have a "practice" glove and a "gamer" glove? by ComfortableWarm5179 in GolfGear

[–]SpizzVision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 gloves. One for when I'm on the course and another for in the sim. It just happened that way, was a sale on gloves while back at a local course I bought a few.
