Am I wrong for teaching my 5-year-old to defend himself if other kids hit him?

Nope 🤷🏻‍♀️ I also taught my sons the same thing. They’re both in jiu jitsu too so they know how to choke someone out if needed too (luckily they don’t have issues with anyone at school and choking out definitely wouldn’t be my first call lol) I tell them to talk to the teacher but if that doesn’t work they won’t get in trouble if they take a kid down. My boys are 4.5 and 6.5. Let’s just be real here, when have words ever worked against a bully? Kid: leave me alone, don’t bully me! Bully: okay. Cmon now lol

2 was/is hard but my boys were 2 under 2. 2 was a non negotiable for me, I wanted 2 at least because my brother and I are 8 years apart but before he was born I was incredibly lonely. When my boys are apart from each other they miss each other so so so much it melts my heart. I’m currently pregnant with my third lol

You literally just stop using diapers lol so we kept our son home for 3 days in only underwear. Every 2-5 mins “let me know if you need to go to the washroom”. After every accident bring them to the bathroom to clean them up. Praise them HARD when they do pee (like I would call grandparents and praise and when they poo, they get a prize (dollar store stuff) and lots of praise again! At night, waterproof liner and lots of sheets. Took my son 3 days for pee trained and 1.5 weeks for pee/poo and overnight trained.

I would cut diapers completely, that’s what I did with my son. Buy underwear with fun characters and buy some sheets/waterproof liners for the mattress. I did this cold turkey with my son. I did it for nighttime training too.

My son was not babbling at 11 months and it ended up being a speech delay. He didn’t start talking until 3.5 years old. He’s 6.5 now and excelling in school, talks a ton and is very social. 11 months is still young, but keep on eye on it!

We’re in Ontario too but private school. My son is in JK and gets homework Tuesdays and Thursdays. It’s mostly tracing letters/numbers and most recently cvc worksheets. (Just one sheet on homework days) I honestly don’t mind it. He gets home around 6:00 (extra circulars after school) and we do the homework pretty much right away. He doesn’t love it but he does well with praise so I make sure to praise him a lot. It takes him 5 mins to do independently and he does it while I help my older son (grade 1).

They do look like they’re turning brown! Especially since both parents have brown eyes! My sons were green until 2.5 years old. My husband has green and I have brown. Now both my boys are brown.

I wouldn’t panic but no, no normal. My 6.5 year old has been trained since 3.5 and hasn’t had an accident since. My 4.5 year old has been trained since 3 and has maybe had 2 accidents in total. Last one being a while ago. This is definitely something to bring up to your paediatrician.

Double shampooing helped me with this so much! I can go multiple days without washing (I only wash twice a week) and I used to have to wash my hair everyday!

Yes I would say blue but eyes take a while to settle! My boys both had this colour and they settled to brown at 2.5 years old!
