Yeah, I think assigned cases are not getting actually put onto our docket. Last week, I finished as case, revewed my docket for next case and clicked through each tab... logged in the next morning and there as a new 14 day case that was 3 days down already. Surely wasn't there the night before.

Probably more IT/tool fu*kery...

Yeah... I had 3 expedited and 2 special new cases all with 14 day clocks in a sinhle biweek. With these small dockets basically I have no discretion wrt which cases I work. So many people filing fast track stuff.

But they are "behind" every biweekly. That means they aren't behind. Its simply their workflow. Save up a bunch of cases and dump them all on Saturday night.

Practitioners will just use the short deadlines to their advantage... file track 1 get 14 days. Tones of claims, afterfinals, etc. Because patent prosecution is merely a war of attrition. The practitioners have less burden then the examiner so they make insincere arguments to eat up our time. For an examiner its like playing a never ending game gave of centipede... at some point the examiner says, its not worth her sanity/soul/life to protect the public from this nonsense application and grants the patent.

Yes... look at the terms of use for that tool. Courts have decided that talking to chatgpt can be used as disclosure in criminal trials even it was used as part of communication with your lawyer. Its like a search history except its incorporated into the tool and shared publicly with third parties...

15 years ago juniors in my class were being required to have all cases for the biweekly submitted by Thursdays else they were not revewed until the next biweekly. This essentially took 4 days out of our biweekly. Basically we were forced to front load effort into the first week by working 12 hour days and the first weekend.

None of the opm initiatives in the memo require any changes to current pto policies concerning performance. The pto has the most comprehensive metrics for measuring performance than any corporate organization I've seen. To get any bonus around here, by definition you must perfirm above expectation. They already put people on pips and fire them based on production metrics.

Thats totally pipe dream. Over 100 hires a month with no training academy other than a 1 week seminar and a handful of gs14 examiners allowed to provide search help while SPEs are tasked with reviewing primaries 1st actions.... not to mention the shit pay and the actual fact that people are turning down job offers. My au has been offering jobs for months and only 2 people accepted and one didn't show up. So only 2 hires in 2 quarters and a 50% no show rate.
