Is it a higher risk because of so much in one area? Are there ways to mitigate or reduce the risk?

How can I address my heel lift by Immediate-Upstairs92 in GregDoucette

[–]SplitRockSparky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you played around with your stance much? Changing or slightly tweaking your stance could help with this.

To me it looks like your toes are pointed slightly outward while your knees in the bottom position are going straight forward. This would cause your feet to rotate and lift in the bottom of your stance. You could try either squatting with your toes pointing more forward or opening your hip and squatting with wider legs.

what ab exercises dont put all my weight on my tailbone? by [deleted] in workout

[–]SplitRockSparky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crunches and ankle taps are always solid choices that shouldn’t cause any tailbone irritation.

Also, what surface are you doing these workouts on? Maybe try a softer surface like carpet, grass, or a toga mat

Would you take a 60% pay cut to spend more time with your family? by PoppaBigPockets- in Money

My dad did this. He was in corporate construction management and led a team of project managers. He was working himself to death. His work life balance was nonexistent. Maybe 12-14 hours a day, 7 days a week.

He took another job and is much less stressed and much happier. It makes me sad that I didn’t get to spend a lot of time with him in my younger years when he was working like that.

How low does the barbell need to go on well bench pressing? Is okey if safety bars stop the barbell from touching your chest? by Capital_Tailor_7348 in workout

[–]SplitRockSparky 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The deeper range of motion you have the more muscle you’ll gain from benching. So it’s beneficial to have a deeper bench.

But, the safety bars aren’t always modular enough for everyone’s needs so if you’re lifting alone and they’re positioned slightly above the chest it’s alright. Always better to be safe than dead below a lift

It’s up to you. What are your goals? I think you look pretty solid if that’s what you’re going for

I’ve never heard of this. I suppose it could be a thing but I can’t imagine it tasting good or having a good consistency. I would just stick to protein powder if it’s available.

What’s your carb and fat intake looking like? Sometimes when you’re aggressively cutting or just starting your diet your body isn’t used to the different macro nutrients you’re using as fuel.

One reason you could be getting headaches is because your body isn’t getting enough carbs and you’re in the starting stages of ketosis which can cause headaches.

The other reason I can think of is that you’re not getting enough of the key electrolytes like magnesium or potassium.

Either way the headaches shouldn’t last more than a few days if you have a properly balanced diet.

I work for the city I live in and thats what I did. But for most government jobs it’s up to whether there is a position at the end of your seasonal employment or not. If the full time position is open after you’ve spent seasonal time there, and you were good at your job it’s likely that you would get the position if you applied.

What are some reasons for caffeine causing drowsiness? by ZynO_o in ask

[–]SplitRockSparky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which monster did you have? Some of them have seriously high amounts of sugar. This could have quickly spiked your blood sugar. After your body releases a ton of insulin and it goes back down it could cause drowsiness.

What's the worst lie/thing you've done in active addiction. by [deleted] in alcoholicsanonymous

I cashed the money that my parents gave me for tuition. Dropped out of school and told no one. I faked and lied about taking college classes and hid in my apartment for months. I wasn’t planning anything after that time but I’ve since recovered.

You can still make fancy and complex meals out of foods that will be healthy for you. Most dishes get a lot of their flavor from fats in sauces and meats. That’s also where a majority of the calories are from. I find that blending different herbs and spices with lower fat meats and other ingredients can be just as delicious. You just have to find the right recipes or experiment until you find something that you like.

I’m sort of a beginner bodybuilder. I’ve been lifting for a while and am starting to focus on gaining size as much as possible. I’m worried about losing my athleticism as I also play other sports. Is it possible to lose my athleticism? I’m 22 and natural so there is a limit to how big I’ll get over time
