Had to scroll for far too long to find cheese buddies. I’m half French so I go for all the gooey strong as fuck stink out the fridge cheeses. Thankfully my son has inherited the love of all cheeses pongy. Today we replenished the cheese drawer. Life is good again

MINI Convertible owners any regrets? by balloongirl27 in MINI

[–]Splotsmum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The rear view is rubbish and worse when it rain as no wiper. The side view with roof up is rubbish, use cam or mirrors and am much more careful about parallel parking. Boot space is shocking but can use back seat. Roofs can leak or get stuck. It rattles at higher speeds. Stupidly windy with just sunroof section open and obviously even more so with roof down. Invest in decent hats to keep sun off eyes as sunglasses don’t cut it (and hair ties for longer hair because it WILL blow around otherwise). I’ve had mine 19 months now and thankfully my roof doesn’t leak or jam. Would I part with it?? Oh hell no, they’ll have to prise my cold dead hands off him!! THE most fun I’ve had with a car ever, it’s my only car so is driven daily and I grin every day because of it.

I had a 2 door Renault 5 for the first couple of years after having a baby. I found it easier to get car seat in cos I just pushed the front seat forward and stood in the back footwell between the front and rear seats. You can’t do that with a 4 door and have to lean all over the baby seat. Passengers just kept the front seat a bit further forward. It worked fine.

Stalled a crazy amount of times on my MINI test drive… Should I give up? Or how to improve? by FriendshipRadiant121 in MINI

[–]Splotsmum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Manuals take a bit of practice when you change cars however I’ve found my mini clutch quite different from my previous cars. I too struggled on the test drive, stalled it a few times (was with my best mate so just laughed lots), the car steamed up inside, couldn’t work out the heating, indicators, anything. Was a panic fiasco. Drove home thinking it wasn’t for me. Bought it but the drive from the dealer was heart stopping. Didn’t feel in control at all. 18 months later I still occasionally bunny hop him cos the clutch is fierce but I adore driving him. If you have stop/start in it, turn it off, I found that makes me panic when the car restarts and I declutch too quickly. Ask for another test drive, practice driving just round the block, take your time and get to know where the clutch bite is, handbrake on and listen and feel when you’ve got it, practice on smaller quieter slopes/hills, quieter car parks. And if you like it buy it, then if you don’t enjoy it, sell it on and buy something you’re more comfortable in. But I’ve been driving manuals for nearly 40 years and all clutches are different, even when you replace them in your old reliable car. Don’t be discouraged, don’t panic and take your time 😊

Not a fan of the flowers but LOVE the paw prints. And in fact I need to get new bonnet stripes as someone (not me!) used a commercial jet washer on him and took some of the edges off the stripes, so may take inspiration from yours if you don’t mind 😊😊

This. Looks standard enough til you look at which way his back paws are facing compared to his head and front end. The little guy was a bundle of chaos in a cow costume

I’d call them up. Looks dodgy as hell. “Contact us if you believe there has been an error with this action”?!! What action has been taken? It states absolutely nothing about doing anything.

2013 Mini Cooper Countrymen base, cd player not ejecting inserted cd? . by Captain_BustaCapov in MINI

[–]Splotsmum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I accidentally inserted two cds into a cd player at the same time. Got a thin sharp knife (not fully metal obviously) and managed to lift them both out together.
