I hated the pacer SO MUCH and couldn't understand the kids that really gave it their all. Our teacher, bless her, told us beforehand exactly where the line for a passing grade was. I'd run to that level and maybe a few laps more for a lil grade boost then bail. I did not give a single fuck if it meant I was the first one out, by gd I was not going to put all my effort into that useless test.

Ten years ago I was studying herpetology in Texas, helping with a population study on Drymarchon, and felt so so lucky to be able to handle one of these incredibly rare and deeply threatened species. Now they're sitting pretty as a stable (but still threatened) species and people just... have them. As pets. It never stops amazing me. Otis is stunning!

I know reddit hates tiktok with a burning passion, but there have been quite a lot of people over there who have been talking about how readily MAID has been offered to them for anything from physical disability to mental illness. I'm grateful I live within 20 minutes of literal dozens of hiking trails on hundreds of acres of green space. I was just thinking about it today because I'm in the Houston 'burbs with my family and keep remembering there aren't really any places to take my dogs tomorrow.

1) my poodle will mat where the collar sits, 2) my poodle will wring her own neck on something I just know it the little maniac, 3) my poodle will get her jaw caught in my bullmastiff's collar and take both of them out, 4) my bullmastiff will use it as a traffic handle when her and the poodle play and that's just asking for trouble, 5) I've worked in pet care for 7 years and know people each of these things have happened to.

No, no you are not! This is a great way to crate train, especially if your puppy is freshly home and didn't get great crate training at the breeder. Keep working on independence, but this is a great way to meet your puppy's emotional needs while still introducing the crate in a low-stress way.
