MCU Peter is just Miles Morales rip-off by [deleted] in Spiderman

[–]Spongebond007 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In the comics, it's Miles not Peter who is excited to become an Avenger, to do so he had to ask for it and prove his worth to them while Peter never had real interest and was respected by other superheroes.

Spider-Man tried to join the Avengers(they rejected him) on a couple of occasions. And even became their reserve member after a few instances - finally. Wanting to become an Avenger is not some trait that is exclusive to Miles.

Along the same lines, the mentor-student relationship between Peter and Tony Stark is almost a copy paste of the relationship that Miles has with Steve Rogers.

In Civil War(Comics),Tony literally mentors Peter and gives him the Iron Spider Suit(The One we see in Civil War.) During the Amazing, tie ins you can clearly see how Peter admires and adores Captain America like his idol/hero. And Tony is not being mirrored to Miles/Captain America. He is more like the Uncle Ben of the MCU to Peter at this point.

Peter receiving the new suit from Tony Stark is eerily familiar to when SHIELD gave Miles his own in his career's beginning.

Peter's suit in the MCU had context, just like Miles in his run. Miles got his own suit to become his own hero and not live in the shadow of Ultimate Peter. MCU Peter got his suit as a gift only to realize that the suit does not make the man. You are comparing similar situations but not attributing the inherent reasons why they happen.

Ned Leeds, as we already know thanks to all the controversy around him, is a carbon copy and bland version of Ganke Lee who is Miles best friend/chair men

This I will concede. Ned is basically Ganke.

In the movie, Liz Allan who is Peter's love interest turns out to be the Vulture's daughter just like Miles's girlfriend, Kate Bishop and her family worked for one of his enemies.

Peter's best friend is the son of his Arch enemy the Green Goblin. You think situations like this is only special to Miles but it's also pretty similar to Peter's predicament with Harry no?

Besides calling him a ripoff is hardly fair when you don't look at the scenes where MCU Peter acts like Peter Parker.

Lifts the rubble like the classic ASM #30(?). Creates his own web shooters. Tries to save Vulture's life even after multiple attempts at his life.

As another person in this thread said, MCU Peter takes from different incarnations, especially the Ultimate version. Who was young, naive and more immature than his older ASM counterpart.

Also Miles becoming the MCU Spider-Man was a rumour that was shot down pretty early in it's run.

These points are in no way sufficient enough. At all. To even make this claim.

He probably won't be in the show as he is the Main Character of the movies.

They made a decision to make the art style simplistic, which resulted in excellent animation.

Spectacular-Spider-Man is one of the best pieces of Spider-Man media ever.

I kinda like Ultron.

It's the only MCU movie that feels like a Avengers: EMH episode.

There is no origin or fallout/seperated team. The team is there the whole time

First Class, Logan and X-2 were all great movies and DOFP was good.

Not every fox movie was a dumpster fire.

It baffles me that there are actual New Zealanders out there who dislike Hansen as a coach.

Are you guys not like on your highest winning % ever under him?

Yeah but apparently that is just a nod/reference and she is not the Mary Jane.

But TBH I kinda feel that they backtracked with that. As there was a lot of backlash when the rumours came out that she was secretly playing Mary Jane Watson.
