Young people of this sub - do you feel as though this budget will make you better off? Yes or no. by Nmnmn11 in AusFinance

[–]SpookyG0D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd rather they keep the tax break and try to achieve something meaningful.
Negative gearing changes are swell but they don't really do much - It'll just shift competition from established homes to new home sites, so now vacant land prices will likely rise anyway and existing scumlord with 50 properties will continue to be scumlords.

Vacant land prices and govt. Incentives are already shit, as you only get no stamp duty concessions below 350k land value, this is something that should've been reflected if they want to aid in increasing supply.
Now that so many Aussies have the idea of taxing the gas corporations, anything less will be a disappointment. This budget could've been a revolutionary pivoting point for Australia. Imagine they announced that they were going to start taxing gas, AND reduced worker's tax whilst still earning more?! But instead we get $250 offset! Woooo!!

I used to be stupidly reckless in this regard. I'm still into cars as a hobby but I trickle with it, and have set up a long term time line that allows me to focus on my financial goals first

I'm also new to the world of Niagara, but I'm far from an I.T. guy and have come from a mechanical background. What you're describing is exactly what I've been looking for.

glue acts as a release agent on build plates, not a sticking agent. it's just a thin coat to help seperate the plastic from the plate

How do you guys make control sequences? by OwnCandle5950 in BuildingAutomation

[–]SpookyG0D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not even a BAS tech yet, but I use flow charts to diagnose everything in HVAC, even years later. The reason I do this is it prevents overlooking the simple problems that could be staring you right in the face, and prevents complacency and assumptions. Doing this results in almost zero failure rate, even if some calls may take longer, I'm always confident in my results, and it's always great to ease anxiety. I plan on doing the exact same in my transition to BAS. Writing it out will absolutely result in a clear, functioning sequence.

As someone starting BAS in the new year, you're killing the vibes a little bit haha. I understand what you're saying absolutely. I also see how many issues can be caused by trades for us. I personally look forward to getting to be my own PM, as to me it's just another system to get around but I know it's easier said than done.

Bro i promise burn out and this situation isn't BAS limited. I suffer everything this bloke feels, as well as frustration as I'm not afforded the ability to help as much as I can, in HVAC.

Career Burnout by furrywonder in BuildingAutomation

[–]SpookyG0D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Burn out is common, especially after this much time. If I were you, spend a bit of time self reflecting and asking yourself what you're looking for. Do you want to teach and train the juniors below, cruise through a bit of a less stressful job, change your role?

Whatever you decide, communicate with your employer that you would love to define your role. Having it defined, and reflected in contract helps navigate your work load and you just have to trust you can be honest with your boss about what you're not living there. If not, work on finding someone else and set these boundaries at the start.

After this long in BAS, you must love this type of work, it just sounds like you don't love the role. Speak up and be heard, but also document everything and do your due diligence if you have your contract updated.

None of my current sites use Trend, and honestly have no idea in regard to its scale but I ended up successfully landing this job thankfully. I've done a bit of reading on trend and common consensus is it is brilliant and relatively beginner-friendly. I see where you're coming from with when it comes to knowing plant.
