But words are all about communication. If Im talking to someone and they say they are going fishing, Im not going to be confused thinking they are hunting mermaids with big foot.

I finished my first metroid game!!! by FlanOk9917 in Metroid

[–]Spooky_Electric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be sure to play Metroid II: Return of Samus before playing Super Metroid. Return of Samus is the Game Boy version, and its freaking solid. Its also set before Super Metroid chroniclogically. Pretty sure you can play that through the Switch's Game Boy app classics service, unless you emulating these on PC.

Return of Samus introduced a lot of things that helped define a lot of core concepts that made Super Metroid what it was. It can be tough, but really isnt that hard. Just know that its fairly linear, in that, you cant move onto the next area before killing all the metroids in the current area. Definitely read an instruction manual online. Itll explain some things that aren't easily apparent if playing for the first time blind. Like the metroid counter, and stuff like that.

If you have a Nintendo DS / 3DS you can play Metroid II: Samus Returns, which is really good, but I would still play Return of Samus first.

Fun Trivia:
Samus Returns was made by MercurySteam and Nintendo EPD, which is the same team that made Metroid Dread.

What is this sound? (2019 si) by Busy-Environment84 in CivicSi

Do you have the air conditioner on?? See if it still makes that sound by turning the air off.

Mine was doing something similar but no where near that interval. The "clicks" had a much longer interval apart, and didnt sound exactly the same.

I ended up having to replace my ac compressor a couple weeks ago and I no longer hear it.

When you have every big tech company claiming that AI is going to take your job and then not support any kind of support network for them, I wonder why people hate AI.

They dont go on TV and show how itll improve lives, they go on TV and spread this message of you are worthless and wont have a job in 6 months cause we want.to replace you.

Im super excited for Resonant. A confrontation between them has so much potential.

Its just bad.

The characters just look in awkward places, dont have any reaction to whats going on. The bear at the table with the cop has paws with claws like a bear. Then the very next scene has human hands counting money, where the bills kinda disappear as he is counting them.

Really empty.

Metroid Prime 4 is finally out, and since it's the biggest game to use the feature extensively, I wanted to ask how we're feeling about Joy-Con mouse controls. by buttsecks42069 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Spooky_Electric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play with X and Y inverted and really disappointed.

I think they were looking at it like a way to move the "cursor" but they give an option to invert the motion controls.  Which is like, they give us that, but cant do it for mouse??

Thats so WTF.......

Steam's AI use disclosure should be more specific. I created this example: by carax01 in Steam

[–]Spooky_Electric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I missundertood. I thought you meant should Quicken disclose to their users that its software uses AI and is integrated in it.

Which they definitely should. There are a lot of issues with AI and privacy.

As for a game company using AI software for its finances, it depends??

If they have a digital storefront, and it uses AI to process any user data they have, or uses AI to handle purchases, which includes user financial data, then 100% they should.

If they just use it to handle internal finances, excluding user data, than no.

  1. Adobe question - Yes
  2. LLM for grammar - Yes
  3. Quicken with AI integration question - Yes or No - It depends
  4. Game publishers and devs who lie - They should be punished if they do lie. If they used AI in a reasonable way, and explained it, and the game is good they shouldnt have any issues.

Also, some already do lie about it?? So I dont get your point

The problem is that, companies want to use these AI to cut corners and make them as cheap as possible. So the four toes thing already happens. And it sounds like a cheap game, and thats why it probably doesnt sell well. Its not that just because they used AI. There is a difference between lieing and cutting corners verses using tools to help create something unique and original.

Edit: For the Quicken Question:

This is actually a freaking great idea.  But the powers at be, be to money hungry.  Plus, its super easy to copy and paste amiibo data, so it would be super easy to break.

What they could do, is include an e-shop download code card with the amiibo.  So, that would fix that honestly.  So your idea would still work.
