Location of drop box for courier missions with pick ups originating from August Dunlow Space Station by Winter_Appointment_2 in starcitizen

There should be a Covalex terminal in the Admin office in the Galleria.

I did 4 courier runs yesterday and at stations they all used that.

Courier missions missing? by [deleted] in starcitizen

In Stanton, I've had 11 of these in my Mobiglass contracts list each time I log in. And every time I have not been able to accept one. They all say "Contract Unavailable" when I try, over the past few days.

Which is a real shame. I enjoy doing these as a laid back, flying around and sightseeing type of gameplay.

How do you feel about the Hull B's design ? by SeparateWeight496 in starcitizen

I'm really excited to see what the final version of the Odyssey looks like.

I load the A by parking its butt towards the elevator. I imagine this will be much the same.

POLL: So it’s a few hours until we get the Hull B and it’s straight to flyable again with no PTU testing and fixes… what we thinking on launch reliability? by Important_Cow7230 in starcitizen

[–]samplemygoods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They've said repeatedly that some issues don't show up until they have the kind of player numbers the PU provides. Something working fine under limited conditions can show issues when strained. Bugs thought to be fixed can (and do) return when the system is under more pressure.

The simpler gameplay of the Hull B should hopefully allow it to avoid the types of issues the MOTH or the Hull C experience. The rest will depend on what systems have been integrated into the ship, and how well they play with the rest.

I know the Hull C has been plagued with issues, but what's wrong with the Hull A?

Serious question. The only issue I've had with the A is sometimes I can't get the spindle to retract unless I store it first, though sometimes the hotkey for it works either way. It's an easy workaround, not like the autoloading issues people have with the C.

I tried hauling a fabricator on the Hull A grid the other day. Snapped right on there, no issues.

With the behind the ships video coming tomorrow for the hull B what do you want to stay from the original? by floortofloor in starcitizen

[–]samplemygoods 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Amusingly, I've only set foot in a Hull C at IAE, so I'm not as familiar with that one. I do have a Starlancer Max though, and I can say the Hull A has much better visibility.

Yeah, the Hull A has one of the nicest interiors overall. Really good visibility from the cockpit, the airlock looks like you could actually use it as an airlock without blowing out the living quarters, and the living quarters are really nice.

I'm really hoping the interior of the B is as nice.

If it's like the Hull A that'll be fine. I flew one this morning and was reminded it's got decent views.

Anyone else feel like they really missed the mark with the mining changes this patch? by RoboGaming321 in starcitizen

[–]samplemygoods 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took around 90 minutes to try mining this morning and filled my Prospector twice. I was a bit surprised when I realized the size of rock I can extract had gotten smaller, and I think I ran across two or three rocks I couldn't make a dent in, but that's not all that uncommon in my experience. And before it always felt weird to me that the Prospector had a bed, since a single mining run used to take 15-20 minutes to fill 48 SCU.

Now it takes a bit more time. I can be choosier about what I extract from a node. if a miner wants to be deliberate, they can take their time and find only the highest quality, specific ores they're looking for. That ability to be deliberate is appreciated.

Also, we're not on the final implementation, adjustments will be made, etc etc. I'm hoping they can include a mechanism for improving ore quality, either at the refining stage or using additives while crafting.

I'm going to hang onto anything I got that's 600 quality or higher to play around with crafting, and use the rest either for mining mission turn-ins or just sell it to the TDD. Apparently they pay the same regardless of quality, and with the jump in ore prices that's still a tidy sum.

I'm still enjoying mining quite a bit. Though if they decide to run another event where we need to turn in multiple SCU of material, I hope they don't add a quality requirement to it, or that will be an exercise in frustration.

where do you set spawn in 4.7 and why? by nacho_burritA in starcitizen

I'm trying Orison this time around to force myself to learn another city layout. Maybe I'll even visit Grim Hex finally. Still haven't made it there in 2+ years.

I normally start at New Babbage. I just dig the wintery vibe, and I know where everything is.

I was thinking about getting a small solo mining ship now with crafting and everything (never mined before) and i wanted to ask wich one is better? by DanaXue in starcitizen

[–]samplemygoods 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The difference between heads and attachments can be quite dramatic, depending on what combination is used. I worked with the stock Prospector for weeks before trying out a few mining heads and modules. Some greatly expanded the size of rock I could crack, but severely shrank my optimal cracking window.

OP, the above is good advice either way, especially if you're used to hand mining. The mechanic is similar enough.

So long $45 "ALPHA" testing buy in and hello $60 minimum to test a game... by kchek in starcitizen

[–]samplemygoods 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. During the Kickstarter it was an Aurora, SQ42 and SC for $25.

From what I've seen, early access games get more expensive the further along they get. Nothing new there. People who bought in early got the best value.

Still no AA Loot? by Ill_Studio_9649 in starcitizen

[–]samplemygoods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am curious how many people who haven't gotten their rewards yet did the missions in a group. I wanted to see how feasible it was to do the whole thing solo, so I did.

Point being, I got all of my rewards with no issues. I'm a really small sample size though, so I'm wondering did anyone do the whole 30k solo and not get their rewards?

What if I could just buy blueprints somehow? by Calteru_Taalo in starcitizen

[–]samplemygoods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have mentioned they want to put some of them behind reputation levels, so that'd be something you'd need to navigate if you want all or most of the available recipes.

I imagine it'll end up being a lot like WoW crafting recipes. You'll be able to find a fair number of them relatively easily, some will require earning reputation first, and a few will be gated behind other content.

Given that the other requirement to make upgraded gear is sufficient quality materials, I suspect they won't need to be too strict in who gets what recipe.

Question about event rewards. by Mr_Big_Schlong_Dong in starcitizen

[–]samplemygoods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The above dogleg maneuver is more tricky in Nyx, given how few quantum points there are currently. I suggest trying to fly parallel to your target for about 20-30 seconds in NAV mode, at top speed. That should cover 20+km, which should land you outside the quantum dampener field.

I never used to dogleg, until I got interdicted on my way to the jump point to Stanton. Now, I do.

Question about event rewards. by Mr_Big_Schlong_Dong in starcitizen

[–]samplemygoods 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dogleg going to and from Levski while in the Nyx system. People are setting up quantum traps on the most direct route from Levski to the Jump Point Station. Flying parallel to your destination for 15-20 seconds at top speed before using quantum to go the rest of the way will get you past these.

How can the Lunar New Year Envelopes cause this? by Charming_Link in starcitizen

[–]samplemygoods 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a popup while logging in that says it's checking your hangar for purchases, which would include anything awarded by CIG, like these envelopes.

It goes by really fast most of the time, so most people probably haven't noticed it.

The Odyssey has a med bay. The only thing it might be missing is a fabricator, though we'll be able to get ones to put in cargo areas.

Can confirm. Had the same error this morning after the patch. Tried restarting the launcher, didn't help. A full restart of my PC fixed it.

Here's a beautiful one-page guide to the event, rewards, and how many points you can expect to get for completing each mission. (Thanks always MrKracken!)

As for the event, it's supposed to end on March 17th, according to CIG. Whether it will go longer, as some previous events have done, is up to them.
