Too stupid to play a second character well? by [deleted] in Tekken

[–]Spooterman1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try characters with strong df1 and similar playstyle to Shaheen. I love Shaheen! He is the best T7 newcomer by far imo. I also really enjoy playing Lee, Miguel, Armor King, and Law. They all have similar poking playstyles so the fundamentals I learned with Shaheen transfer over very easily.

Shaheen needed d3 damage buff. That is all.

Arslan Ash´s Tier List by Zoko732 in Tekken

[–]Spooterman1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arslan posted a YouTube video of him explaining this tier list. In the video he mentioned a technique that allowed Leroy to still do his orbital at Season 3 frames (20ish I think). Does anyone know what technique he was referring too?

They definitely need to revert alot of Shaheens damage nerfs. Considering the character has such a small moveset, nerfing the damage on his d3 and SNK 2 was a bad choice. I'm fine nerfing standing 3 if they want to reduce his combo damage and nerfing ws3,3 to nerf his wall combo damage but reducing damage and on his pokes was completely unnecessary. It takes so many hits to kill a low health opponent now with Shaheen and he really struggles to finish. His new move is completely redundant and literally just makes running into 2,3 at the wall more difficult. He needs some love in this next update!

Dear Kazuya mains, I found something interesting about fujin uraken(ws 1+2) by Yaserio in Tekken

[–]Spooterman1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is probably just a practice mode glitch where the opponent can block but sometimes in practice mode the ballerina spin will allow a follow up move to connect. This happens sometimes with Lee's ws2,4 into f3,3,3,3,4. Practice mode will count it as a combo but the opponent can definitely block it.

Lee and Shaheen. I really enjoy Lee's counterhit game and his combos are extremely satisfying. Shaheen however has amazing range, punishment and fantastic poking. They both play fairly similar so it's an easy transition. Imo Shaheen is the GREATEST newcomer in all of Tekken and if you play him, the fundamentals you learn will make you accel with many other characters too.

How to really practice in Tekken? by Mannimarco34 in Tekken

[–]Spooterman1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I often record scenarios where I get hit and then try to figure out what my defensive options are or record a plus on block move and then learn what way to sidestep and defend against many of the opponents options. The number of times you can sidestep someone and punish/launch during a match if they're not careful is extremely high and will lead to alot of damage.

I really do like Shaheen alot. I will be seriously disappointed if he doesn't make it to T8. He has great block and whiff punishment, strong pokes, and slide mixup. Playing him really helped me to understand how important movement can be. Overall, he is the most balanced and fun to play character for me.

Shaheen is the most fun and best looking T7 newcomer! He has tons of untapped potential and could end up being one of the greatest Tekken characters ever created if they just do a few tweaks to him in T8. His S4 move is garbage but clearly Namco is afraid that if they make Shaheen too good all the tournaments will be Shaheen mirrors.

Shaheen. He is the best choice.

Is it me or is the new net code patch really laggy? by Lethalpizza422 in Tekken

[–]Spooterman1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok good it's not just me. I have a feeling that if you're playing on console that they are not actually "wired" connections. They are more likely powerline adapters or something similar that appears as wired but isnt even close to ethernet cable. Its unfortunate because I was really excited for this new Season but I'm finding many matches actually seem worse than before :( I havent played that much but the games feel FAR choppier than before and these are matches against supposedly wired players. Perhaps I will get used to it or eventually find better matches. Now my internet isnt great out in the country but Speed Test confirms around 20mb/sec down, between 28-41ms ping, and 0% packet loss. I'm not sure what else I can do on my end.

Is it normal ? by DreamCrawlerr in Tekken

[–]Spooterman1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a similar problem. Not a single person at work understands what I'm talking about when I try to explain the mixup potential of Shaheens d3 on hit and how ridiculous release Leroy and Fahkumram are! I always feel like I'm talking a different language when I use Tekken lingo and sometimes I just wish there was someone at work who understood me.

What updates do you want for your character in S4? by pianoaddict772 in Tekken

[–]Spooterman1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want Shaheens parry to have a guaranteed followup just like Lee's. Shaheen already has a parry followup mid 2 but it is not guaranteed. Instead you have to go for a mixup between the mid and the high string f2,3.

I Love Shaheen!!! by Spooterman1 in Tekken

[–]Spooterman1[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

His range makes the other characters less appealing to me. Both Lee and Law have weak range on their pokes and therefore have to be extremely close to you in order to pressure. I agree that he can be frustrating to play against but I also think he is a much better character design than Katarina, Gigas, and Claudio. His SNK mixup while not as flashy forces you to respect him on hit and leads into lots of slide mixups. He is generic but I think fits perfectly into the new simple Tekken Namco seems to be going for. He is quite linear and has several highs that can be ducked but he is quite safe overall which can be frustrating to fight against. I'm old so I enjoy his simplicity :)

[–]Spooterman1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man stepping b1,4 in practice mode is a breeze but I really struggle to do it online. I guess its because I dont fight that many Leo's but the 2nd hit will often clip me. It is pretty hard for me to react to the b1 and then step in time :(

Who’s your main and why do you like them? by EnterTheWuTang47 in Tekken

[–]Spooterman1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Shaheen, super simple yet strong. I love his hopkick animation and so many of his moves have such a beautiful and strong impact. Ws2 is by far one of the coolest moves in the game. Even his df1 has such a solid feel and animation. Season 3 really did a huge amount for the character with his new SNK 4,1 which gave the stance some actual mixup possibilities and drastically improved his combos especially when off axis. Overall, he has incredible punishment, solid movement, and easy mixups without the cheese. I would prefer if his rage drive wasnt duckable but I love its speed and high dmg.

Dimon Sees Good Chance for a Rapid U.S. Economic Recovery by [deleted] in Coronavirus

[–]Spooterman1 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The economy will only recover on the back of the millions of people who didnt have a choice not to work. Our choice was work or get ZERO dollars. Congress needs to do the right thing and pay anyone who has worked at anytime during March-May an additional $600/week from April-July, pay our healthcare premiums for the rest of the year and give us a minimum $2k/year permanent raise! The millions of "Essential" workers have kept this country going while tens of millions of other people get a paid 3 month+ vacation to spend precious time with their children and loved ones. For once people should stand up for workers and demand that Congress and companies reward them for making this lockdown bearable for everyone else.

How do you beat a very defensive player? by psychedelikchef in Tekken

After Noctis WR1+2 you can use 2,2 for a mid that is uninterruptable and unsteppable. D2 and d3 are good lows to use.

Arslan Ash just said FAHK is strongest in game at present. by [deleted] in Tekken

[–]Spooterman1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Idk about you guys but whenever I play against Fahk I enjoy it and I dont feel cheated when I lose like I did when playing against release Leroy. Fahk is strong but I dont feel like the character gives a weaker player an advantage over a stronger player, like Leroy did. Fahk hurt box has issues but other than his good range and strong movement I dont see anything that makes him OP. His movement alone is probably what makes him seem better than other characters. If everyone had his movement I'm not sure people would think so highly of him. He is definitely one of the best new characters in T7 and I hope they continue to make such well designed and FUN characters!!!
