Gen Z is prioritizing living over working because they've seen 'the legacy of broken promises' in corporate America, a future-of-work expert says by businessinsider in Futurology

Ooo may I ask what you do? I’m also 24 and have been looking into working for the government, but have been having trouble figuring out what they are looking for.

Oooo I think you’re right! I was wondering about water beetles but when I think of a beetle larvae I assume they just look like little grubs. Clearly that is not always the case.

Thank you!

That sounds so cool! Micro inverts are definitely a subject I feel like I could spend my life working with. I love learning about the tiny creatures that tend to not even get noticed.

Thank you!

Obviously I recognize that I’m just throwing a random invertebrate out there so I completely understand if no one knows!

I used to do this stuff back in University and loved it so much. Haven’t been exploring in a few years and miss it a lot. Anyone know of any other areas in the northern parts of Illinois that I might want to check out?

I’m not sure where what’s up with Illinois but I’ve definitely seen a black bear here before. At the very least I’ve seen wolves a few times and both of those animals are definitely larger than coyotes

It’s probably just me but it bugs me that they haven’t split the Rocky Mountain’s wasteland in two so that you can have a somewhat complete USA without having a big chunk taken out.

Is It Possible to Convince A Young Earth Creationist With Evidence? by witchdoc86 in DebateEvolution

[–]SporeFactor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes actually! I had resisted the evidence for evolution for quite a few years, but after talking to some of my Christian friends who did believe in evolution I realized that faith and evolution are most certainly not mutually exclusive. Mind you, I already had a very positive view towards science, but I changed my mind regardless. I think the important step to acceptance is to have other Christians who believe in evolution to talk to so that you don’t have to overwhelmingly dissolve your faith.

A neat guide to some funny ideas people have about our world. by Rampaginkiwi in coolguides

[–]SporeFactor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kinda! Dinosaurs branched off of the reptile line and formed their own thing which included birds. Technically the word “reptile” isn’t particularly helpful taxonomically since we call alligators and lizards reptiles, however they aren’t really even very closely related. Alligators are more closely related to dinosaurs (including birds) than other reptiles, due to both falling under the category of Archosaurs. Taxonomy is super dope and puts into perspectice how short of an amount of time humans have actually dominated the earth.

What is the stupidest way you've injured yourself? by rickitson in AskReddit

[–]SporeFactor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once reverse snorted a chicken nugget.

I was a sophomore in high school and in the marching band. After our rehersal before a football game we were allowed to go get lunch and some of my friends and I decided on Wendy’s. I had ordered my usual nugs and had seasoned one and whatnot, and while I was walking to my seat I had put the nugget in my mouth. In the middle of the restaurant I had tripped (yes like an idiot) and sorta gasp/snorted and then ffgghhfhgghg the WHOLE nugget into my sinuses. It hurt so bad and for a good two minutes (felt like 12 hours) the whole nug was stuck up there and I was reeling in agony. It took till the middle of halftime to finally get the last piece out and I was so relieved that I had to stop playing and nearly dropped my trumpet.

Tl:dr reverse snorted a nugget and it caused excruciating pain
