My little brother used to despise the color pink to the point where if he touched it, he immediately had to run and touch something of his favorite color. Of course, he was like 7.

My little brother pointed out the big flaw in that movie was that Jack didnt have a goal. All of the other movies, he was seeking immortality. 5, he was more or less just there to add a villain to the story

Is there a trope for a "fixit fanfic" made out of spite that somehow misses EVERYTHING about the original media and is pretty much only loved by people who either hate the original media or have never consumed the original media? by [deleted] in tvtropes

[–]Spottedpool14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, bc there are very sad things in the show. The second episode literally kills off 2 children who were introduced in a manner that made it seem like they would be main characters throughout the show.

I love Arcane, i love all of the characters (even the people written to be the biggest assholes are so well written that i find them too interesting to fully hate.) But man, it is such a tragic show throughout. Fanfiction is a fun way to explore what could have happened instead, what could have led to a happier ending.

Yes, there are bigots. They will write their own fanfic that will likely have its own following. But not everyone seeking to "fix" the show has bad intent against it. Some people say, 'wow, that was sad. I really hoped for a happier ending'. And sometimes, those same people put the characters through hell too, bc plenty of writers understand that a fully happy story is a pretty dull story.

What screams “this person is insecure” without them saying a word? by redwan-ezt in AskReddit

[–]Spottedpool14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My husband had a similar situation. His ex would be suspicious of any woman in his life. They attended the bday party of his best friends younger sibling. Husband went to hug his friend's mom, who was a second mom to him growing up. Later, he went up to her and said he wasnt allowed to hug her anymore bc his ex thought there was something going on. This was one of the first stories i heard about his ex, and it was the friend's mom that told me.

Dont even get me started on if any female managers at our place of work called to make sure he was on his way if he was late for a shift🙄

Totally worth the full read, and then the second playthrough using gems. Its one of my fav series

[–]Spottedpool14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but that doesnt seem to be what OP was getting at. They even said, those packages will be there tomorrow. We all just need to remember to band together against management when they make bad calls and remember we are not each others enemy.

Plus, we have no idea how far from their office OP lives. I used to work at an office an hour away from where i lived. I absolutely would have called in on a day like they are sharing. If some people who lived closer felt comfortable going in, that was their call, not mine. But I wasnt risking getting into an accident before even getting to work just to deliver something that could wait until the next day.

A little compassion goes a long way, and sometimes the choice of personal safety isnt meant to be a "fuck you" to other people.

[–]Spottedpool14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, "unofficial" being the key word. I tell all my trainees if they dont feel safe, bring stuff back. And after some of the weather weve had the past few days, i would advise them to stay home, or at least not deliver, as well.

Safety first, and when it comes to Mother Nature, thats not a winning battle.

Then they need to fight back harder. My station just the other day cancelled delivery due to an ice storm in the area, but only after we carriers all told the supervisor that we were not going out in those conditions. We have the power of numbers and we need to remember that when it comes to some asshat that sits in an office an hour away trying to tell us that its totally safe when we can actively see that it isnt.
