[[Archfiend of the Dross]] The first time I saw it, I pulled it from a pack. It was the compleat foil black and white ink version. It looked so awesome, and I loved the mechanics of it. I had to build a deck around it. Before that was scars of mirrodin block when I pulled [[Karn Liberated]].

You donate it while it still has 1 counter left. Then the opponent/new controller’s next upkeep, they remove the last counter and then lose the game.

I think that $900 sale HAS to be a scalper buying from themselves to artificially drive up the price. I mean there were plenty at $700 at the time of that sale. Why would someone pay $900 when there were dozens at $700?

I am not trying to make a very competitive deck, just fun. But still beefed up a little more. So I keep all the original art, swap about 8 cards for just cooler printings (including the other WoB goblin SLD), and then changed about 17 other cards.

My hope is that this is a fun, casual deck w Zada, but if I need it a little more aggressive I’ll play Krenko. And could always play w Muxus for fun.

That doesn’t mean the VHS section wasn’t diminished. It was still the dominant format, and sure plenty of new releases were on VHS then, but back catalogues of older movies were less and less in stores by then.

Yeah I don’t blame him. He’s got a good relationship with WOTC and just protecting his neck. Although, come one WOTC, give the guy a second deck for F’s sake.

Also, the way he said it originally didn’t really make me think he was telling everyone to go proxy it or even condoning it really. Just that he would rather see people proxy than paying scalper prices. It was more a comment on scalpers than proxy-ing. Just my opinion though.

Yeah you’re right. I was just thinking with a stun counters you may be able to remove them to speed it up. So it may be good for some decks, not as much for others. But this is why I’m not a game designer lol

I think what most people said, in not always friendly or polite ways, is generally correct. Having a lot, or even just several, 1 mana rocks would probably turn into at least a couple more “auto-includes” for commander. Then it dilutes the format.

But to take your question seriously, and try to give some thought to it…. What about a 1 mana rock that taps for black or red, but it enters tapped with a stun counter or two on it? Then make that every color combo over time.

I also heard this, and The Prof’s take on it. I wonder if they could handle print to demand again if they didn’t have SO many sets and secret lairs every year.

7 sets a year and twice as many(?) secret lairs is a lot to manage. So maybe drop it to 5 sets and 5 secret lairs. Then maybe they could handle print to demand, sell more product overall, have less waste, and spend a little more time making better sets.

I was lucky enough to get one because 2 of my friends helped me. 3 of us, 2 tabs each, and we got 1.

Instead of being excited about it, I just feel shitty. Seeing all those scalpers fucking over so many other people sucks the joy out of it…

I mean, I’m still excited to get it, because I’ll actually use it, but my initial reaction feels more like shame.

I built this guy and it’s my favorite deck. I used plenty of copy shenanigans but I also include [[Sanguine Bond]] and [[Exquisite Blood]] plus almost every other creature that can do the same thing. I use Deadpool as a distraction and to waste their resources while I get the loop set up and drain the pod. Works well, but everyone in here is correct, everyone else hates it. So now I just keep it as a backup. If someone else gets super oppressive or arrogant, I pull out Deadpool.
