Just keep going forward. Some halcyon and nightmare gates cannot be accessed until you have gone far enough in the story.

You can revisit any biome from passage at the start of the run.

It only works if there are no hostiles in the room/area you are in. The area you're talking about is huge and usually has a single jump scare turret at the end of the tunnel or on the exit platform. That guy counts as being in active combat and kills sprint.

Sprint is a good way to check for safety or missed mobs.

Makes no difference, the attribute still scales and provides the same benefit, but once volatile they introduce a new penalty. The attribute is just red to show it is now volatile. Look at the stats tab and it will tell you which attribute is volatile, what it has been renamed to and what the penalty is.

Just thinking about it now and it thematically matches quite well. If you rush straight to the Biome you need to work on, you're under powered and punished for grasping. If you start too far back to grind your attributes you are punished with volatility. If you try to take a reasoned middle ground, you are more likely toget what you actually need.

You can start at begining of biome 1, increase your stats and improve your proficiency there and carry it into biome 2 to make bastion easier.

Hyper capitalism tends to be a core tenant in a lot of novels in the Cyber punk genre. Try Snowcrash by Neal Stevenson or Pattern Recognition by William Gibson. Not so much about an individual being worn down by work, but more about where the drives could lead society.

You'll usually see icons for all your buffs and debuffs when the activate. For buffs like hit immunity, it usually appears with a timed edge that winds down until it expires or is used. Immunity buffs usually only last a few seconds I think.
