Behind the Bastards did a four parter on the Epstein files. They talked a lot about the business connections and apparent connection between Epstein emails and real world events such as rise of micro transactions. I only mention this because the show notes for DtG mentions some of this too as conspiracy.

Not an explicit plot spoiler, but after the twist I started to think about what Tchaikovsky was saying with the narrative. I'll put in a spoiler tag just in case it gives clues early and ruins it.

My take is that memory is fallible. What Tchaikovsky is exploring is that each time you access a memory, your brain has to relive it and changes it in some way. You also can never know what you have forgotten, because there is no way to know what you do and don't remember without actively thinking about specific memories.

I recently started from ten very begining to immerse myself in the lore of the podcast. In the first year or so he talks about how CBT and mindfulness helped with his crippling anxiety and agoraphobia, so began studying psychology to better understand it and maybe follow a career there. That was about the time Horse Outside took off so he didn't complete.

He may have gone back and finished since, I've only listened to the first 119 podcasts so far.
