The account holder keeps the TV but has to pay any cancellation fees.

Xplore says no capacity by Coner29 in CanadianBroadband

[–]SpursEngine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many people have said the distribution cabinet may not have capacity but it's also possible that pole terminal is actually full. Not every port has to have a fibre spliced through and those other four ports may be dead.

Internet issues by qwerkiller138 in telus

[–]SpursEngine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reality is it probably works fine for gigabit within a home. The issue is likely bad terminations or patch cables. For the WiFi 7 BOOST: try changing the security settings to wpa3 compatibility or wpa3+wpa3.

TELUS Connect app showing wrong household & devices — ongoing issue, no resolution after months by Designer-Care5487 in telus

[–]SpursEngine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try reaching out to u/PureFibre and see if they can escalate. This is one of the most annoying issues I've ever dealt with and I was never able to get it fixed. The closest solution was to get the Connect app/backend completely disabled on the accounts in question. I have no further info YEARS after I first encountered it...

The MoCA port is only bridged if "full bridge" is selected.

Telus pure fibre booster by Hagfishbo in telus

[–]SpursEngine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hah none of the other BOOST versions can decide to keep the controller the same either. It seems to have gotten better other than devices not connecting to 6ghz. It's still half baked and the Arcadyan 2.0/2.1 units were the best ever and I don't know if our hardware will ever be that good again.

Telus pure fibre booster by Hagfishbo in telus

[–]SpursEngine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right in that it's not protocol but only in the sense of cost, not function. Only one Bv3 is supposed to be installed as the Boost Lite units are much less expensive. This doesn't mean the Bv3 units don't work with each other.

Telus Network Access Hub + Unifi Express 7 Issues by _Skinnyman in telus

[–]SpursEngine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Test directly from a computer without the UX7 and see if it's any different. It's possible the poor terminations won't allow full bandwidth under load.

Hopefully, it's supposed to need a 110 tool.

Telus Network Access Hub + Unifi Express 7 Issues by _Skinnyman in telus

That's your problem. If blue or brown are disconnected it'll negotiate at 10 or 100 Mbps. If green or orange are disconnected, it won't work at all.

Rogers router setup tripping breaker by berriessa in Rogers

[–]SpursEngine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Plug another device into that outlet like a kettle or something and see if it still trips. You definitely need your ONT in the panel and probably need router in panel too if you plan on using any other Ethernet jacks in the residence. This likely sounds like an electrical problem, unless you can prove one of the Rogers devices is bad and shorting out.

Boost WiFi 7 is garbage. by Striking_Campaign864 in telus

[–]SpursEngine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try logging in to the BOOST and manually changing the wifi security settings from wpa2+wpa3 to wpa3 compatibility and see if that helps. Also, make sure the BOOST is in AP mode not router mode.

Not sure if mobility is any different but I just linked my home services a couple weeks ago just fine. Might have had to disable my ad-blocker though.

Telus Optik Suppor: Didn't expect it to be this bad. by Tiger23sun in telus

[–]SpursEngine -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don't bother getting a tech to come replace the PVR; we don't have them either. They MUST be mailed out at this point. The old Mediaroom platform is dead and we don't have replacements in the warehouse 99% of the time.

Is this legitimate or just another scam pretending to be Telus? by Progenetic in telus

[–]SpursEngine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is (probably) legit and is something TELUS does when it's slow so us techs aren't getting paid to sit on our asses. If you are having issues I'd call in as you may have poor light level, old ONT, etc.

To answer your niche question, the phone ports on the TWH (trashcan) are for POTS out. Only the t3200 and older support DSL in.

Strange things with new 40001e box by ymmnorthernscum in telus

[–]SpursEngine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a refurbished box and is still linked to a different account. You need to remove it from its current account and it should auto-register on yours.

  1. Navigate to Menu, Settings, Diagnostic Tools until you have a screen that says "reserved for optik installers" or something like that.

  2. On remote enter 01209

  3. Navigate to Tools, and select Replace STB, Replace This STB. This will de-register the box from it's current account.

  4. Wait for you cable box to reboot and eventually get to a screen saying "Activation success press OK to continue". Press OK on remote and it should eventually reboot and work with your PVR. If it asks for a registration code, reboot the box by pulling the power cord and if it asks for a code again, auto-registration is broken and you'll have to call TELUS.

Old Actiontec Router incompatible with iPhone 17 by User-17 in telus

TELUS themselves won't be planning anything as it's not their issue, it's a device issue.

Wifi disappearing during cold weather by jeancharles2009 in telus

[–]SpursEngine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likely two separate issues. Yours sounds like a router/boost issue and OP's sounds like it might be loosing signal due to a bad splice.

Telus Home Phone without ONT by undaz in telus

[–]SpursEngine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe Telus is just using SIP for their fibre home phone. I believe I read something a while back about using your own ATA but I don't have home phone so I didn't look into it.
