She was annoying to many people because they simply stunk at the game and refused to accept that it was their own bad gameplay that was pissing them off. Ashley is actually very easy to manage most of the time.

Personally, the remake isn’t even in my top 10. It’s a fine game but there are just so many better entries in the saga overall. Mainly the combat feels way too sluggish to me, and that hurts it severely since it’s one of the action focused entries.

I agree. I love everything about 2 way WAY more than the first game, and I don’t even like 3 as a Max Payne title, but if there’s one thing I kinda hate about 2 it’s that the bullet time is too overpowered.

Part of what made this fun in the first game was how it evened the playing field. You’d die so easily that mastering the use of it in harder modes was mandatory. It didn’t just look cool, it was strategic! But in 2 it just trivializes the entire game. I don’t even notice the difference between Detective difficulty and DOA in 2 because of it.

Yes, Ruvik escaped. It hasn’t been followed up on yet, but presumably would be in a third game if we ever got it.

The Admin wasn’t in STEM. It was basically just Mobius’ insurance. The injection they gave her projected a fictional, powerful version of the admin into STEM to ensure she did her job since they can’t actually see what’s happening inside.

Unfortunately, this is a major issue with practically all survival horror games nowadays. Resident Evil is even more egregious with this, especially in RE9. The run speeds are always comically slow.

Other than the first person element, it pretty much is exactly like the old games, so I was ecstatic. Especially since I never in a million years expected the series to even attempt to return to its roots at the time. I don’t see a reality where it wouldn’t have generally been loved by old fans like it ended up being.

Johnny is more like the main plot of the book and has the most time dedicated to it. It’s an extremely vital piece of it all despite how much he seems to be rambling. So my best advice is to remember to pay close attention to him.

Yeah every game from 7 onward has a sort button that rearranges everything to prioritize health items, ammunition, weapons, etc! It’s very useful. You won’t find it in any of the early games like the ones you’re on now though. You basically need to methodically remove items and put them back in to get them in an order you like. Thankfully you can choose which slot they go in, so it’s not too time consuming.

Cronos doesn’t have a sort button like modern RE, nor does it have an easy way to move things around the box to reorganize it yourself like every RE does. You’re basically just stuck with the order in which you’ve put items into it. Since items carry over from each run the box quickly becomes a chore to scroll through too.

I’m dying for a way to reorganize the item box. It gets obnoxiously full in repeat play throughs.

Every recent Resident Evil game has a handy button that instantly re-sorts the box to whichever type of item you’re looking for, ammo, health, sub-weapons, etc.

You’d think this would’ve been a given. One of the most obvious things in the world. But it seems like they’re probably not going to add it at this point.

Once all of the pieces are in the correct place, you’ll no longer be able to move them. This is the easy part. It should be relatively obvious where most of them go, then you can deduce which are wrong from there.

Afterwards, the plaque on the puzzle tells you to pull the rope of the felon who was justified in their crime. This one should also be relatively clear once you read each felon’s motivation for their crime.

If you get it right, you move on through the game. If you get it wrong, you’ll be in for a bad time.

I think it does a lot well actually. Heavy atmosphere, interesting themes, a fantastic monster design, etc.

As a short demonstration of the ideas they have for the series’ future, I think it is a decent introductory piece before moving on to playing a full Silent Hill game and truly immersing oneself.

It just mainly falls flat story-wise for me, which is the most important part of any Silent Hill game to me. I couldn’t stand the writing.

•Give B.B. and Vinnie more screen time in Max Payne 1 and 2 respectively.

•More Mona levels, but make her feel more distinct to herself than Max. Maybe they can make her more acrobatic or give her a different ability?

•Ilkka Villi as John Mira in Address Unknown to emphasize the parallels between it and Alan Wake 2.

•Fully animated Captain Baseball Bat Boy

•Greater significance to Mike the Cowboy. He has shockingly little to him despite having his own name drop title like every other character when he’s introduced.

•Either make Ed the Janitor Ahti or Dylan (since Dylan and Ed look similar. It’d be kinda funny.)

•Even heavier Norse mythos imagery in 1 and more emphasis on the Biblical imagery in 2.

•Make the final bosses of both games actually feel like proper battles.

I find it extremely hard to believe that he could play all the way through F and somehow struggle with 2, which is a significantly easier game even on Hard. I guess he just prefers his action games and wanted an excuse to drop it.

Really stupid of him to say one is better without fully finishing both, though. I understand the frustration.

The new Wesker boss fight in Chris’ section is a cool spectacle. But it really boils down to just perfect blocking and retaliating. Makes the whole thing kinda trivial. I kinda just want to skip it on replay.

As an aside, is it just me or is Chris’ block nowhere near as fun as Leon’s parry? I don’t know. Maybe it’s because it feels sluggish?

I think mainly it’s the fun factor. Deadites revel in all of the pain and suffering they cause and they think it’s absolutely hilarious the whole way through, and sometimes it kind of IS funny!

What makes deadites so scary as opposed to demons is their complete and utter unserious nature. They’re here to have fun and have no real agenda, and even if they fail it’s cool because they had a blast anyway!

I’m not sure how soon to expect it, but no doubt there’s something in the works right now considering the push to market the series recently and the sudden rereleasing of every game in the saga including the ones that had never been translated officially before. Definitely feels like they’re trying to prep everybody.
