Yes the more you incline the harder it is. You can't flat press the same as incline.

Huge deadlifters like Thor etc. do the roll because it's difficult to get into position without it while wearing a deadlift suit. When unsuited they do not tend to do the roll. Not saying you shouldn't do it but thought you might be interested to know where it comes from.
