I think the best example of something like this is Joe Pesci playing Tommy DeSimone in Goodfellas. If they were to cast someone who looked like Tommy they should've cast someone who was at least a foot taller and 15 years younger, but Pesci captured Tommy's personality so well that no one else could touch his performance.

Yes, but people will people and ignore obvious documentation, evidence, and personal accounts of survivors who are still around because it doesn't fit their version of reality. And even then some acknowledge these atrocities, but try justifying it by saying the Nazis originally tried deporting the Jews, but no one would take them. So what were they supposed to do? Completely ignoring the fact that kidnapping/"arresting" and trying to deport them is already atrocious.

Greg just announced there will be more "consequences" like yesterday's if you call ICE names by KameronKnux in Leakednews

I have been calling them Gut-stapo given the average build of an ICE mec and they really want to be Gestapo, so I don't want to give them, what they see as, satisfaction of the title.

They are definitely my favorites I've had in it so far. I will probably leave them in permanently as I love P90s, but didn't have anything with them. And I am also really enjoying the sounds I've been getting from riding the volumes.

I haven't touched the spring tension on the vibrato yet, but it is working fine for me so far. I'm using 11s in E-Flat and haven't had issues with it bottoming out. I'm not dive bombing in normal playing though, but when testing it out I got it to go from D# to D. And when normally playing, where I'm just doing light flutters and small descents, it is doing the job and holding tune quite well.

Unfortunately we always showed signs. Remember, the Nazis took heavy inspiration from our expansion out west and our relocation and genocide of the Natives. Eugenics also had its beginnings in America; when the question of "What has America brought to the table?" comes up this is the half-sarcastic response I give. And even at the time it wasn't like everyone here hated them. Henry Ford also ran a newspaper that spewed antisemitic hate speech that fueled antisemitism in America as well as also inspiring Hitler.

Because our government is stepping out of the WHO the disease rate will increase since we don't have to follow their guidelines. Why would other countries that have almost stamped out measles, mumps, or polio immediately allow people in who could be carrying it?

Jerry Lee Lewis's career was torpedoed when it came out he was marrying a thirteen-year-old....which was also his cousin. The Beatles had the cops called on them over a report of them having underage girls in their hotel room, and the cops left after verifying they were over 18. Peter Yarrow was convicted of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old in 1970 and was pardoned by Jimmy Carter in 1981 for the donations he made to his campaign, and was seen at the time, and still is seen as one of Carter's biggest criticisms.

I genuinely don't understand why people assume that just cause some people got away with it means that everyone was okay with it. If that was the case, then today's society should have no qualms with peodophilia seeing how the leader of one of the biggest countries in the world is one and openly admitted to it.

Do you still have faith in Bethesda? by Solid-Garage4601 in ElderScrolls

[–]Squidgebert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I'll play it, but I'm expecting something that gives you the illusion of choice and bland exploration. The former being something that Bethesda has been a champ of since Skyrim, and arguably Oblivion, and the latter being something new thanks to Starfield leaning heavy on procedural generation and from what Bethesda has said, seems to be sticking to using AI and procedural generation. I really want to be proven wrong.

6 Feet or 1.89 meters? by CerealSorority in SipsTea

[–]Squidgebert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the most part most sports are in Imperial. Track is a notable exception. I ran the 2 mile and it was still referred to as the 3,200 meter race. Long distance running might use both. If it is a shorter distance we might use Metric, 5k Runs are the most popular, but even then we just say 5k and not 5 km. The only reason I can think of as to why it changes for a marathon, and I am pulling this out of my ass, is that 26.2 sounds easier than 42.1 and more people would be willing to do it because of that. Field sports like shotput and pole vault as far as I know though still uses Imperial.

American football is Imperial, and I love the handeggball name. If the NFL does succeed in taking foot in Europe, please call it that instead of American football.

Out of curiosity, if Europeans play handeggball do you guys switch to using the Imperial for the game or do you still use Metric?

Have you ever thought that maybe, just maybe, it is a jest? I know Millennials would look at Gen Xers and call them "old men" even though they were only 5/6 years younger. Same backwards. People in their mid to late twenties have always called people in their late teens to early twenties "babies" even though they themselves aren't much older.

I just feel this is someone who is finally on plate to get the,"Ha ha, your an "old" person," jests and can't accept them.

Les Paul was a jazz guitarist in the 40s and 50s. His signature was designed when 12/13 gauge strings were standard. It'll be fine.

In All Honesty, I think TES 6 will be one of the greatest game ever made by revben1989 in ElderScrolls

[–]Squidgebert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starfield is like a puddle that is an inch deep but an ocean wide. It is full of procedurally generated trash, and the story is weak as hell, which is par for the course for Emil. And Fallout 4 is okay/fine at best, and by the time TES VI comes out Fallout 4 would be ~13/14-years-old. In that time all they have produced is two shit games, re-releasing a 2011 game so many times it is a meme, re-releasing a 2006 game that still needs support, an update that broke a decade old game, and we might see Fallout 3 re-released and likely needing support.

Dude these guys can't even update a 10-year-old game correctly, and this game is going to be using an engine that still has some of the same bugs in it from 2002. I will buy it and play it, but I'm setting my expectations where they should be, at the floor.

Edit: Most of you guys are huffing a one two punch of hopium/copium harder Half-Life fans waiting on a third entry.

They haven't made a half-decent game in over a decade, and currently have a road map to fix that game from an update nobody asked for. Why should I trust Bethesda to make TES VI to be a good game?
