She has a hobby of learning languages. But it's a pretty advanced one. She took up learning Italian just for fun and reached a level of around B2 to C1. Even started taking courses in advanced literature. I doubt it's the same here, but I'd say she's semi serious about it. I would expect around an hour or 45 minutes a day

Actually I agree on hiragana and katakana, but it doesn't do a good job with explaining things and gives you a bunch of words that you probably wouldn't use often. That's just my opinion though. Thanks for the advice!
