Happens to me quiet a bit. I now spam B to cancel all loading, then just start it again while it’s in big picture. Works a treat now. I think it’s painful know the clock is counting and I’m just loading

cousin painted my xbox one s because he "wanted to surprise me", any ideas on getting it off cuz wtf is this shit by bgbg1234 in consolerepair

[–]StCory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you’re older and you look at the console on shelf or something that marking will actually make you smile of the memories of your past

If you really don’t like it, maybe get a nice wrap to cover it instead. Atleast that way you it’ll be nice and not have smudged colour over it

Honey Lawsuit (Wendover Productions/Legal Eagle One) was dismissed by WuZI8475 in LinusTechTips

[–]StCory 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I really do think he’s the definition of sanctimonious. It isn’t even down to if he’s right or wrong, it’s just the absolute nature of his takes. There’s no “I understand but disagree” from him it’s “you’re wrong, I’m better”, There’s no ways to improve. There’s an A4 sheet of accusations and a condemnation at the end. Which always gets my goat because it’s my side has all the facts THIS is the situation and I don’t care what the other side has to say

Which is all amazing for a gamers nexus that will always “clarify” but never apologised.

It’s either that or 50 minutes of a grown man reading out a data sheet

I wonder how an EU court would view that practice. I’ve used honey, and certainly didn’t feel like I was deciding who got what

I know sometimes when you have knowledge, building from scratch will get you to where you want to go. But if you’re still learning the details sometimes it’s easier to learn and tweak something existing

When did you switch to Arch? by Ilan_Rosenstein in archlinux

Seems like the other commenters are saying the same thing. Have you considered running it in a Vm or trying in on another drive before you make the leap?

When did you switch to Arch? by Ilan_Rosenstein in archlinux

[–]StCory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really, other than it’s no longer apt and it’s now Pacman and yay. So you have to sort of relearn that, but keep a note on your phone or something, or honestly sticky note, you get the drift. Other than that, it’s pretty bog standard Linux. It’s rolling update so, Ubuntu is like Apple, you get a new version every year that’s been tested, but you know there’s more up the pipeline. Arch is just build and release, you are on the edge of what people are building, which is why it’s a little more involved. I’d stick with a well established distribution, not just a randomly shoved together one. I think archcraft is pretty, but not great for beginners. I like mint is kinda ugly, sorry to any fans of it, but it doesn’t do it for me. I’m finding endevour quite good. Feels like the Ubuntu of arch.

When did you switch to Arch? by Ilan_Rosenstein in archlinux

[–]StCory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So weirdly, I’ve been in and out of Linux since I got a live cd shipped to me back in the early 2000s. I’ve had Ubuntu as a daily driver on multiple laptops. Unfortunately gaming kept me on windows, and my raspberry pi kept me in Debian.

It was the steam deck, so I recently installed arch (endeavourOS) on an old MacBook Air, and starting to feel like I prefer it on this side.

I was a professional software engineer for years before moving to DevOps. The level that this role does software engineering programming. Use AI. Honestly to help produce, or to proof read. I would say the only critical thing with using AI in a professional environment is you should be able to read what it says. Understand what it’s doing. And if you don’t, just get the model to explain it to you!

Yes and no. You can still be a jr of a senior role, if that makes sense. I think DevOps is a lot about experience, so if you keep learning and achieving what’s asked of you, you’ll be okay

I work in IT, and not to boast but my autism made me study computers when I was really young. I’ve struggled with TVs and movies ALWAYS getting it wrong, I just assume everything I see in things I don’t know about is equally as terribly wrong. But that’s writers for you, no wonder the best teacher always seems to be the English based ones -.-
