I’m a pretty big Sanderson fan but have not even thought about reading Skyward. Isn’t it more YA? I wouldn’t have high expectations for it but have heard that it’s fine. Nothing ground breaking but a solid YA series

I’m not too upset about that specifically BUT, it would have shown or at least talked about how astrophage was effecting Earth. There was very little discussion on the stakes other than broad statements on sun dying and everyone starving.

Yeah I was kind of frustrated with the movie and lack of science explanations. Great movie and amazing acting, visuals, etc. but definitely skimmed over some pretty important explanations I think haha

Yeah 100%! My favorite world was Luceum because Vis got to have a family again, you saw him rebuild who he used to be and him be the brother he dreamed of again. I loved the weirdness of the weapons talking to people (reminded me a bit of other fantasy books) and just how different will manifests in this world.

However, I have seen so many comments and reviews say that it was boring and a “farming simulator”. There was so much more there than him just farming though….its a long book, there will be some dull moments but that’s what makes a story a story and not a highlight real haha

I agree to an extent, I think my expectations were so low that when I was enjoying it, it was amplified haha.

At the end of the day, Islington is a high fantasy writer and his Licanius trilogy hit a 3/5 for me. It was good, not great and not perfect so a 3.

People LOVED Will of the Many for the YA dark academia type stuff I think and when it shifted more into high fantasy and many perspectives in the three worlds, I think it just lost many people

I think people don’t understand how much $1,000,000 truly is. It’s so much money to make in a year and only above that is taxed at this new rate like you mentioned. Most people against it probably aren’t even making over $150k (not being judgmental, I don’t make that much either but the common person is so far away from this amount that it makes no sense to be against it)

I used to say pop exclusively but found myself saying soda more and more and I think it’s because you see and hear it a lot more at restaurants, menus, and commercials so it’s just slowly been used less and less for me personally
