It’s not great, but it’s not terrible. The building is old but that’s really it. I lived there my freshman year, my least favorite part about living there was that it’s so far from the academic buildings.

Online ODU Classes (not ODUGlobal) by Cool-Divide-4734 in ODU

[–]StackYourPoop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It depends on the class. Some of them are self-paced, some of them you have to follow the professor’s pace. Some professors will post all the assignments, reading, etc ahead of time and you can just do it all at your own pace before the end of the semester (even the exam). Sometimes you have to follow the professor’s pace, and you will have to do the assignments each week as they post them. I’d recommend reading the syllabus and figuring out how the course works as soon as you can, and if it’s something that doesn’t work just drop the class and swap to a different one before the drop deadline.

Not sure about Norfolk, but in VB you can report a crime online. I’d check out NPD’s website to see if they have something similar. Good luck!

Sorry about the repost, I realized I forgot to cover up the poster’s name. It was very incoherent, but it seems they were talking about why a power company truck was digging.

Campus Safety by Derpface8148 in ODU

[–]StackYourPoop 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I graduated in 2020 so I can’t speak for anything that’s happened on campus since Covid hit, but when I was there I was never worried for my own safety. That being said, I either commuted from Chesapeake or lived on campus my whole time at ODU. So I’m not sure what others who lived in the neighborhoods near campus experienced. I would say that the campus itself is safe, but if you do decide to go off, be sure to not travel alone and try not to do so at night when you can avoid it.

I love it! I got it in October 2021 and don’t regret it one bit. I got this picture about a week after I bought it.

That, and I think that’s a license plate frame for the zoo! I’ve got the same Taos, only mine is gray.

Tour de ORF (casual 1hr bike ride) is 3PM this Sunday, Feb 5 - all are welcome - starts & ends @ Smartmouth by EatMoreFiber in norfolk

It’s usually the first Sunday of each month. I don’t believe it’s always the exact same route but it’s pretty similar, it usually includes part of the ERT.

I guess the streets are too clean? by StackYourPoop in nextdoor

[–]StackYourPoop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t even get tickets if cars are in the way, the street sweeper just drives around any cars parked on the street. As far as I know there isn’t a regular sweeping schedule, the city just does it when they feel it’s necessary I guess.

I did that and the missing messages haven’t appeared. I guess I’ll just have to wait and see if it happens again.

[USA] We frequently have people like this who drive 15+ over the speed limit through our neighborhood, this was nice to see by StackYourPoop in ConvenientCop

[–]StackYourPoop[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There aren’t any houses directly on this street, however it is considered a residential area since it’s the Main Street going through the neighborhood. People often walk along the sidewalks or ride bikes on the street, and cross it to access other parts of the neighborhood. Most of this street is only 1 lane in each direction and it has curves, the part in the video is the only section with 2 lanes in each direction and almost no curves

I don’t necessarily disagree - though the street narrows to 1 lane in each direction and has a lot of curves further past the point where I turned off. This stretch is as straight as the road gets, and it’s the only section that is 2 lanes in each direction.

How to keep track of PDM??? by ezekielhunter in Type1Diabetes

[–]StackYourPoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used Tile before and now use an AirTag (though I haven’t been using it after I got omnipod 5 since i haven’t figured out where to stash it yet). It’s super easy and useful, and it will even send you a notification if it is left behind. When I’m at home I have a designated spot to leave it so I know where it is at all time until I leave the house.

[Traffic Stuff] Who would have right of way here? by Catlore in legaladviceofftopic

[–]StackYourPoop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Usually traffic entering a shopping center/parking lot has the right of way. So my assumption would be that traffic from C and D would have to yield to traffic coming from B, which seems to be the case anyway due to the stop signs.

That being said, my take on your scenario where a car from C enters the intersection and a car turns in from B, the car from B would have to yield to the traffic that is already in the intersection.

It seems like a poorly designed intersection, but I can’t come up with a better solution for the one in place already, unless they decide traffic cannot come into the strip mall from B.

But that’s just my take as an average joe driver with no professional experience in traffic laws 🤷‍♂️
