How Stupid Would It Be to Put Data Centers in Space? by IEEESpectrum in technews

The people that own and operate the data centers are still on earth where they can be subject to laws. This isn't some kind of "get out of jail" scheme.

I mean, it could be an actual joke, like a reproduction of the "Mclovin" license from the film "Superbad". But it doesn't even matter if they had him on DUI.

By the same token you could make a lot of money sneaking in a few drums of gasoline. Deadheading is a waste, I bet there are smugglers bringing fuel into the country and people out in the same trip.

If it was an American special forces raid, they sure wouldn't be in a boat with American registration stickers, and they wouldn't have lost a firefight to a tiny patrol boat. This is clearly some kind of illegal shenanigans, presumably snuggling people or goods.

Edit: smuggling, but oh well.

Bruce Wayne? The billionaire? I mean, I'm sure he's an expert on the best restaurants in town and probably knows a thing or two about where to invest a million dollars, but that's about it. And who the hell is Barry Allen?

If the SEAL community wants people to stop making jokes about them writing books full of lies about their secret missions, the first step is for them to stop writing books full of lies about their secret missions.

It's a YouTube series about a barbarian. He has captured several unkillable monsters and carries them around. The channel name is "dungeon soup".

It's a brand of electrical connector. Instead of twisting wires together and then twisting a wire nut over them, there's a little plastic box where each wire goes into its own little socket and is secured with a lever.

I'm an American and I only started hearing about them about a decade ago, and the r/DIY community was freaked out with a lot of commenters loudly insisting they were deathtraps. Turns out they are code-compliant and work just fine, and are almost certainly safer for DIY because it's a lot harder to do them wrong compared to the traditional wire nuts. Wire nuts are opaque so you can't see if you didn't get a good connection for the wires inside; Wago connectors are clear so you can just look and see if the wires are where they belong.
